Board Appointment

Bluebird Mining Ventures Ltd., a pan Asian gold project development company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Cédric Simonet to the Board as a Non-Executive Director.

Cédric holds a PhD in Geology and has 30 years' experience exploring, developing and mining mineral deposits in Africa and in France. He was Head Geologist and Open Pit Manager at SOGEREM fluorspar mine in Alcan, France. As Africa Region Manager with IGE Resources AB (gold, vanadium, nickel and tantalite projects), Cédric was part of the team that started the Kilimapesa gold mine in Kenya. He is a co-founder of Akili Minerals Services, a Nairobi based exploration services company, and has been involved in a number of gold, gemstones and critical raw materials projects in Africa. He is also a former Chairman of the Kenya Chamber of Mines. Cédric is a member of the European Geologists Federation. He is qualified to act as a Competent Person (JORC) and as a Qualified Person (NI43-101) on a variety of commodities including gold.

Cédric is currently the CEO and a Director of Altona Rare Earths PLC (LON:REE).

Bluebird Executive Director and Interim CEO Aidan Bishop said, "I am delighted to welcome Cédric Simonet to the Board of Directors. Following the resignation of Colin Patterson as Director in February 2025, the Board has been actively seeking a replacement with mining and geological expertise.

The appointment of Cédric should not be seen by shareholders that the Company is presently contemplating a shift in geographical focus but rather as a necessary step to ensure that adequate technical mining expertise was represented on the Board and that the size of the Board is in line with the listing rules. 

The Company is seeking to recalibrate its strategy considering further delays in South Korea which include determining the right composition of the team for the future.  I look forward to providing further updates in due course."
