Blue Star Capital, the AIM listed investment company focused on the Homeland Security sector is delighted to report that one of its core investee companies, Zimiti Limited, has today announced, an ongoing contract with BP to develop a low cost, highly effective and rapidly deployable system to protect both fixed and mobile assets from either accidental or malicious damage or theft.

Zimiti is expecting to deploy the first system with BP in the fourth quarter of 2011.

The system has numerous applications in both the commercial and defence sectors and can, for example, monitor tens of kilometres of borders or perimeters for months at a time and remain unattended.

This contract announcement is a milestone in the delivery of Blue Star Capital's strategy to invest in world-class technology companies where their technology has class-leading dual-use capability across both the defence and civilian sectors.
