Babcock awarded Canadian submarine contract extension

Babcock, the global engineering services company, has secured a three-year extension, worth around £225 million, to its existing contract to provide in service support contract to Canada's fleet of four Victoria Class submarines.

The contract which has been extended to 2021 is the largest naval in-service support contract in Canada. It will see more than 400 highly experienced Babcock engineers, project managers and specialist support staff continue to support all four submarines in refit and in service, including deep maintenance periods as required.
