Avon Rubber PLC14 December 2006 Embargoed until 0700 14 December 2006 AVON RUBBER PLC BOARD CHANGES Trevor Bonner CBE, Chairman of Avon Rubber p.l.c. will step down as Chairman andretire from the Board following the Company's Annual General Meeting in January2007. His successor is The Rt.Hon. Sir Richard Needham who will be appointed as aNon-Executive Director and Chairman of Avon Rubber with effect from 26 January2007. Trevor joined the Board of Avon Rubber in 1994 and became Chairman in February2001. He was formerly an Executive Director of GKN plc and a former President ofboth the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders and CLEPA (the EuropeanAssociation of Automotive Suppliers). Terry Stead, Chief Executive of Avon Rubber p.l.c. said, "Trevor has been ableto combine his experience with a large organisation such as GKN and the needs ofAvon. His experience and wisdom have been invaluable. He has actively helped torestructure the Group including close involvement in the disposal of theAutomotive business. The Board would like to thank him for his excellentcontribution and wish him well for the future. At the same time, we welcome Sir Richard to the Board. His diverse experiencegained in industry over a number of years, particularly in manufacturing,together with his deep knowledge of Government and its interface with trade andindustry will, we believe, contribute significantly to Avon's growth prospects,particularly in respiratory protection." Since leaving politics, Sir Richard Needham, a former Trade Minister, has been aDirector of GEC p.l.c., Meggitt p.l.c. and is currently Vice Chairman of NECEurope. He has been on the Board of Dyson Ltd for over 11 years, where atpresent he is the Independent, Commercial and International Director.
