Multiple Contract Wins

Avanti Communications Group plc (AIM: AVN), the broadband satellite operator, has signed contracts to supply broadband products to four separate telecoms service providers in the UK. The contracts in aggregate are worth a minimum of £400,000 over the next two years.

The customers are:

Avonline plc, one the UK's leading network installation companies.  With a team of 750 in the UK and Europe Avonline has provided voice, data and video services for 25 years;

Broadbandwherever, which specialises in the supply of satellite broadband services to small and medium businesses throughout the UK & Europe, including products such as VOIP, VPN access, Video Conferencing, and Private Networks; 

Coview Solutions, which provides high quality, dependable wireless networks to blue-chip clients in both the public and private sector; 

KBR IT & Networking Solutions Limited, which provides wireless and satellite services to customers in UK, including government, health and emergency services. 

David Williams, Chief Executive of Avanti, said:

"I am pleased to report strong momentum in consolidating our lead in European satellite broadband. We now have 42 service providers around Europe which puts us in a great position to fill our first satellite, HYLAS, quickly when it launches.

"Our wins in the UK are also important in the light of the British Government's "Digital Britain" study. When the final report is published in June, Avanti expects it to recommend the use of satellite to address the 10% of UK population which does not have access to acceptable terrestrial broadband services. We now have the distribution in the UK to cope with large scale and rapid deployment."
