After University Roger worked for some 20 years with Oliver Ashworth Ltd., apipeline manufacturing, products and supplies company, of which he wassubsequently Managing Director. He was instrumental in growing sales from £1million to over £100 million and achieving a full listing on the London StockExchange, before in 1998 selling the business successfully to a Frenchindustrial company. Since then, Roger has held a number of non-executiveappointments in both private, Official List and AIM quoted companiespredominantly in the engineering sector. Ken Baker, who communicated his intention to retire from Avingtrans plc 12months ago has been with Avingtrans for 6 years during which time he hasmasterminded the Company's transition from a cash shell into the ambitiousengineering group that it is today. The Board would like to thank Ken for hisinvaluable contribution to the Company. Ken has agreed a 3 month consultancyagreement to ensure continuity through this transition period and will continueas chairman of Vehicle Occupancy Limited (VOL) the technology business in whichAvingtrans has a 7% shareholding.
