Atlantic Coal plc, the AIM listed open cast coal production and processing company with activities in Pennsylvania, USA, announces that it was informed on 29 September 2015 that Peter Chinneck, a non-executive director of the Company, transferred 218,051,282 ordinary shares of 0.07p each in the capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") from a nominee account in his name at Brewin 1762 Nominees Ltd to a nominee account in his name at Alliance Trust Savings Limited on 28 September 2015, for nil consideration. This transfer was effected pursuant to the sale by Brewin Dolphin Limited of the Stocktrade broking business, where Mr Chinneck holds part of his interest in Atlantic's Ordinary Shares, to Alliance Trust Savings.

Mr Chinneck's beneficial interest in the Company's Ordinary Shares has not changed as a result of the above transfer and remains a total of 250,051,282 Ordinary Shares, representing 5.09% of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.
