Antofagasta plc announces its intention to issue its inaugural bond

Antofagasta plc ("Antofagasta" or the "Company") announces its intention to issue US dollar denominated unsecured debt securities (the "Notes") to institutional investors in benchmark size and subject to market conditions.

This will be the inaugural bond issued by the Company and will diversify Antofagasta's sources of funding, introducing long term financing into the Company's capital structure.

The use of proceeds from the offering of the Notes is intended to be for general corporate purposes.

The Notes are intended to rank pari passu in right of payment with respect to all other outstanding unsecured and unsubordinated obligations of the Company.
