Alkane announces that application has been made to the London Stock Exchange for the listing of 70,400 new ordinary shares of 0.5 pence each. The admission is being made pursuant to the exercise of options on 15 September 2010, at an exercise price of 10.5 pence per share, under the Group's Pre-Admission Share Option Plan.

It is expected that dealings in the new ordinary shares will commence at 8.00am on 21 September 2010. Following the admission of the new shares, the issued share capital will be 93,154,278 ordinary shares.
