Alkane announces that application has been made to the London Stock Exchange for the listing of 200,000 new ordinary shares of 0.5 pence each. The admission is being made pursuant to the exercise of options on 23 February 2010, at 12.75 pence per share, under the Group's Post-Admission Share Option Plan.

It is expected that dealings in the new ordinary shares will commence at 8.00am on the 2 March 2010. Following the admission of the new shares, the issued share capital will be 93,083,878 ordinary shares.
