Clarification Announcement

(Overseas Regulatory Announcement)

There has been recent media reports to the effect that Air China Limited (the "Company") has requested a capital injection from the PRC government and that the Company hopes to receive a capital injection of not less than RMB3,000 million. Having made enquiries with China National Aviation Holding Company ("CNAHC"), which is the controlling shareholder of the Company, the Company would like to make the following clarifications:

CNAHC has previously expressed to the relevant PRC governmental authorities that CNAHC hopes to receive a capital injection. However, the Company has not made and will not make any application to the relevant PRC governmental authorities for a capital injection.

At present, the operations of the Company are normal and there is no other material information which is required to be disclosed pursuant to applicable rules and regulations which has not been disclosed.

Investors are advised to exercise caution in dealing in shares of the Company.

This announcement is issued by the Company pursuant to Rule 13.09 of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.
