DawMed Systems PLC31 January 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 31 JANUARY 2005 DAWMED SYSTEMS PLC DAWMED AWARDED CONTRACTS IN EXCESS OF £1 MILLION The Board of DawMed Systems plc ("DawMed" or "the Company"), the medical devicescompany which designs, manufactures, sells and services washer-disinfector-dryers used in the Sterile Services Departments of NHS Trust hospitals, private hospitals and clinics, announces today that it has secured two significantHospital Trust contracts, for the supply of the Company's products and relatedaccessories, with a combined value exceeding £1 million. The first contract, which is for the manufacture and installation of DawMed'sBETA II washer-disinfector-dryers and related accessories, marks the Company'slargest single order in its history. The contract will enable The Royal Victoria Hospital Trust to meet its needs for automatic washing, disinfectionand drying of surgical instruments, prior to the final process ofsterilisation, in its new Central Decontamination Unit, which is currentlyundergoing construction on its site in Belfast, Northern Ireland. In addition, DawMed has just received a noteworthy order from The RoyalGlamorgan Hospital Trust, based in Wales, for the supply and installation of arange of the Company's Wassenburg flexible endoscope washer-disinfectorproducts. DawMed's washer-disinfector-dryer product range, for use in secondary carehospitals and primary care surgeries and clinics, were conceived to ensure theautomatic washing, disinfection and drying of surgical instruments, hollowware,rigid and flexible endoscopes, instrument trays et al to enable effectivesterilisation thereafter. The whole range of DawMed WDDs complies with all UKand imminent European standards and carries the CE Mark.
