Salistick™, the first ever saliva pregnancy test, to be launched in Tesco

York, U.K. 15 August 2023: Abingdon Health plc (AIM: ABDX), is pleased to announce that Tesco will roll-out Salistick™, the first-ever saliva pregnancy test, in 298 stores and online at Tesco.com from late-August 2023.

The launch of Salistick™ will be focused on larger Tesco stores as well as online at Tesco.com. This follows the initial launch of Salistick™ with Superdrug in 400 stores and online at Superdrug.com.

The Salistick™ pregnancy test offers women an improved user experience, with high accuracy for early pregnancy detection. The revolutionary patented technology allows saliva to be used as a sample rather than the traditional urine sample. Salistick™ offers the ability to test anywhere, anytime, and for the testing experience to be shared with a partner and other loved ones. It is estimated that 12.5 million pregnancy tests were performed in the UK in 2022. The global pregnancy test kits market was valued at USD 1.70 billion in 2022 and is expected to reach USD 2.28 billion by 2028, growing at a CAGR of 5.08%(1).

Abingdon Health is the exclusive distributor of Salistick™ in the UK and Ireland on behalf of Salignostics Limited, an Israeli developer of innovative saliva-based diagnostics tests. As well as providing distribution support Abingdon Health has been providing Salignostics with contract development services to scale-up the Salistick™ product for manufacture and will continue to provide Salignostics with contract manufacturing services going forward.
