Anglo Asian Mining PLC01 June 2007 1 June 2007 ANGLO ASIAN MINING PLC ('Anglo Asian' or 'the Company') APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Anglo Asian Mining PLC (AIM: AAZ) the gold and copper development company withprojects in Azerbaijan, announces that Mr Khosrow Zamani has joined the Board ofDirectors as a non-executive Director with immediate effect. Mr. Zamani was director of the Southern Europe and Central Asia Department ofthe International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector lending arm ofthe World Bank, from March 2000 to July 2005. This department was responsiblefor the IFC investment programme in 15 countries across the region. As of July1st, 2005, Mr. Zamani was appointed as Senior Advisor to the Vice President ofOperations. Whilst a director at IFC, Mr. Zamani was instrumental in building the IFCinvestment programme in the region with several new initiatives, particularly inCentral Asia and Caucasia. He oversaw the IFC portfolio of more thanUS$2billion, diversified across the financial, oil and gas, mining andmanufacturing sectors. Graham Mascall, Chairman of Anglo Asian, commented on the appointment, "We arepleased to welcome Khosrow to the Board. His experience and contacts in theregion of Caucasia will be a great asset to the Company and his fundingexpertise will be of particular relevance as the Company's projects develop."
