RE: Check this out!27 Jun 2021 21:53
Hi Tony,
Don't forget that many of the roads they will be moving over will not be M25 or even 'A' road standard.
Also, many if the loads will be oversized and/or over weight - for example the Gensets and mud pumps will be on lo-boys and the mast sections will likely be on extended bed trucks - and these do not move quickly at the best of times.
This also means it's common for them to only be allowed to transit through towns at specific times and with a Police escort, plus they may have to detour around low bridges or weak bridges that they would otherwise have to cross.
In that respect, 150 - 200 km / day is actually a pretty good average for a rig move in those circumstances.
In Drilling speak, 'mobilised to site' means that the Contractor (whichever one it is, not just the Rig Contractor) has been instructed to start moving their equipment / material to site - it does not mean it's arrived on site.
On a rig mobilisation / rig up (and during drilling for that matter), every day is a working day!
The video posted earlier of the Rig fully rigged up was clearly not of the Basur - 3 location, as already explained by others.
The photos posted on the 21st June show the base of the rig substructure in place, which would normally put them 7 - 10 days from spud as they are typically the first rig loads to arrive on a mobilisation from the yard.
As far as we are aware, AME have to spud by the 27th June as a condition of the licence. There has been no confirmation if they have applied for, or been granted, an extension by the Turkish Govt.
If they haven't, then the Spud RNS may well be issued tomorrow - but there will likely be several days of 'slow progress' while they actually get the rest of the equipment installed and acceptance tested.
If AME have got a licence extension, then the spud RNS should be on Thursday or Friday.
Hopefully...
