I just wonder how confident the bod are in getting the OM production concession or is it wishful thinking and fingers crossed on their part. That means it will have taken more than a year from the Italians saying Game On to MOG being able to drill. Is that normal or are the Italian authorities slow? It seems as if no one wants to make a decision unless it affects their political future. Or am I just being impatient. I'm equally invested in LGO so kind of hedged (I hope) against a negative outcome for MOG. I wonder if the dispute is causing the Maltese authorities to put the brakes on.

Positive news I think but until the dispute is resolved and the OM production concession granted I think we're going to remain at this level for a while. Maybe start to see some movement North second half 2013. Still too much uncertainty. The BOD are clearly doing the best they can under the circumstances.

Another possibility is that MOG and Genel will both live with a reduced stake that's in proportion to their current holding - Genel 67.5%, MOG 22.5%, LGO 10%. I'm sure that MOG and Genel will have had the discussion.

That's just what I was thinking. I think that Genel and MOG would already have discussed how the % would be worked out in the event that LGO win but I don't think the whole 10% would come straight out of MOGs stake leaving them with 15%. More likely that they'd get 2.5% like you say. IMO. I think a straight 10% to LGO is wishful thinking on the part of LGOers. I was thinking of asking the MOG BOD that very question this morning but knew they wouldn't answer it.

What we need is a resolution to the legal dispute and some positive news from Italy

Here are the reasons why the MOG share price is so depressed: 1. No sign of OM production concession and the accompanying political uncertainty 2. No sign of a production concession from Malta 3. Legal dispute with LGO over 2 4. General lack of news coming out of MOG It's as if anything that could go wrong has gone wrong and most of it is out of the MOG BOD control. It could all turn round in an instant with just one piece of positive news though.

The LGO investors (of which i'm one) were like a pack of rabid dogs when it came out ..... then the share price fell

I've just run one of the articles through a translator and its about the environmentalists trying to get the decision reversed. While I understand their concerns they just don't want offshore drilling under any circumstances. Thank goodness they weren't in charge when North Sea Oil had been discovered. Not everyone in Italy can afford to sit in an olive grove and paint pictures for a living and Italy need the resources more than ever. In an ideal world we wouldn't have to drill for oil but this is reality and we do. Ciao : )

Sorry but I reckon most investors on here can't read Italian. I am concerned that Ombrina Development might not go ahead if politicians decide to reverse their decision. It was disappointing that they had a knee jerk relation to the BP spill. Of course no investor would want the coastline and livelihoods of its people to be put at risk. That's why it's important the MOG satisfy the environmental impact assesment and mitigate any risk as far as possible. It just seems to be taking forever.

I get you. I've only got access to the limited free trades page. It's a load of nonsense. I bought £3k MOG last week and it just never showed.

Merry Xmas everyone. I've just celebrated (saddo that i am) by topping up with another £3K worth of MOG. Don't think the sp is going much lower and it shouldn't be too much longer before the cork pops on this

Would I be right in thinking that the signing of the Genel deal is secondary to the granting of a production license by the Maltese authorities. Not being insulting to Malta but isn't their whole economy based on Popeye World and visiting churches : )

Now that we've got the end of the world out of the way I think 2013 will be transformational and we should see 50p+ again
