The same way Netflix does, except you pay subscriptions based on which packages you want. They could offer the same channels, but over the internet rather than via a dish. Whether you have a box, or just stream directly will depend on how they decide to offer it.

SKY already offer a subscription service that is served via satellite. Now if they ditch the satellite fine, but they still need to get that service into their IPTV box in your home and that will be connected to a broadband router despite of who the provider is wether BT TT Vodafone Virgin etc. . Now SKY have 6 million broadband customers of their own and they have amassed them without the proviso it’s required to deliver their TV package. In fact it’s their so the customers can surf the net like the rest of us on whatever we choose to do. They aren’t going to just say hey ho IPTV we go… here BT have these 6 million customers of ours that you’re already supplying FTTC and FTTP too on ya go lol you take their £30 a month instead of us.

I’m not sure it’s been thought out. Separate IPTV from Dish of course but one way or another those signals have to get into a box in the premises connected to the internet somehow wether fixed line or mobile.

Imagine just imagine that SKY, primarily a TV provider with bolt on BB and mobile services decide that their delivery will be via their main TV competition who also offer BB and mobile… and then VM02 decide to hike their wholesale BB price to SKY making their package unattractive and more expensive…. Yeah you can’t imagine it because it’ll never happen.

OFCOM have definitely softened their repression of BT/OR that it has endured under the Sharon White tenure. If she was still there I doubt Equinox would have sailed through, in fact she’d have probably imposed higher wholesale charges from Openreach so that the altnets could wipe out their customer base.

I know people who lost sums as high as £350,000 on promises of returns and dividends and game changing results in the field. Ignore the experience at your peril GFD.
