Hate to pop your enthusiasm bot, but it's not the first cruise ship to have these lifts. MSC have them.

Bot, feel free to say none of my business but how do you deal with broker risk?

I've tried to spread pension, share funds and etfs across various brokers after I found out the other month from my pension advisor that Sips held at brokers in etfs don't get the same amount of protection should the broker fail vs the likes of Scottish Widows etc.

Yes money should be ring fenced, but that doesn't always work in practice upon default! I'm not talking fraud, just poor housekeeping etc.

Then there is the risk of Irish fscs equivalent being much less than UK fscs!

Interesting to see that NCL is moving away from one of its speciality restaurants. I also noticed this onboard P&O Arvia recently (the American diner and Mediterranean restaurant are included free) . Maybe people are becoming more cost conscious?

I've used Stock Perks it on CCLs Costa brand (a month ago) Worked very smoothly. I found it it quicker than emailing p&o.

There's an interesting thread on cruise critic if anyone wants to follow reposition red sea cruises. Interesting in October they had armed guards onboard!

I think the current plan is to go in convoys with naval ships alongside.

You also have to remember that most of the USA performance is from 7 tech stocks. They are each up over 90% in the year. Strip those out and the majority of the S&P 500 is down.

Generally market liquidity is low in all stocks over this period, so it doesn't take much to swing a price on either direction. CCL is always a volatile stock anyway so I wouldn't be surprised if it bounces around more on the low volumes.

Interesting Tops. I had a quote last night from my US agent for a 14 day Holland America cruise....100 USD outside cabin. For 14 days! I called them up and they were equally shocked but confirmed it was not a typo and I'd need to act quickly to secure. Works out £6 per night! Yes, it doesn't include tax and port fees, and for UK customers you need to factor in a flight, but it does suggest not all Carnival brands are operating at full capacity.

Yes, can't be greedy. I'm going on cruise number 28 on Friday and only one of those has been with NCL so that probably says something about why I didn't buy NCL shares. I just don't warm to the brand as a customer.

Agree, but they are still selling repositioning cruises. I guess they need to move them from dubai somehow unless they decide to go the longer route via Africa!

Just back from my 1 week, £300 solo cabin on Costa from Trieste to Istanbul! Fantastic value. But lots onboard were given nil premium solo cabins so whilst it was fully occupied in terms of cabins, the ship felt quiet. The boarding process in Trieste was horrendously slow. I'd seriously consider never sailing from there again. It really doesn't replace a Venice so off.

Many of the shops were closed onboard for refurbishment for the entire week. A serious loss of revenue there.

I'm not sure they marketed to uk, i bought from Germany, I think there must have been about 5 brits onboard !

Istanbul cruise terminal really needs to be seen. Its incredible. We were the only ship in though so it was empty

Not sure if bad news includes the targeting of British ships with drones in the Red Sea!
