The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
I see a lot of negative posts here with false information. "The process is unproven". It has been proven with the ENVIA project and Red Rock.
The reality is people can post all the **** they like. It makes not a blind bit of difference on a small board the direction of a multimillion pound company with billionaire partners in British Airways and Shell as well as government backing. Jog on trolls.
That's awesome and good to see it started in the UK. From what I've read it costs around £25k to set your home up and around 8-9 years to break even. Basically solar panels and storing the excess energy and even selling it back to the national grid if you want. For anyone settled in a family home I'd say do it if you can.
I like the idea of the back up electric storage batteries that for any reason we have an outage they provide the power. Tesla have started doing these for homes to store excess solar energy and I believe a huge one is being designed for an entire town in Australia.
Something along these lines would be great for street lighting, road signs etc
Definitely, there's always consequences. I remember walking home in complete darkness through cycle paths. Given I grew up in the town and am physically fit / 6ft etc it only made me more cautious. Some people will be mugged and worse with silly short sighted decisions like that.
This government don't know what they are doing Steve. Investing for the future was always a back burner to panic buying for the present. It comes to bite you in the ass rather quickly. Energy is one big example, I remember they cut street lights around 5 years ago 'at night' and rather than invest in renewable power did nothing hoping that saving on a few hours of having lights on would safeguard our energy future lol
Thanks Lynny, my situation has changed and the money will may be needed for moving or even just to feel more relaxed in an emergency. People getting laid off work etc
I'm not one who can wait until 2025 so VLS is probably not for me. I'm hopeful it will be a huge success though and the UK would do well to 'make it so' (lol)
I guess yours just sold. 7.66 just hit. Maybe you should check just in case
To sell** I really need my money and no stress for a while lol
Good luck all
I've set a set limit at 8p. Normally there is a second spike after lunch so may go to the highs of 7.93p again or more.
Can someone please post a link to this article if they have seen it?
So far everyone is getting excited and I can't see why.
Good luck everyone but I'm not counting my chickens yet.
The way I see it is VLS is playing for time. There are some big milestones to come. FEED to be complete by Q2 2021 and options for AltAlto to be done by Q2 2022 approx. If it can stay consistent at 6-7p until the FEED stage I'd probably take that.
Most of us would be pretty happy with that to be honest. It's true it has bounced extremely quickly every time. It just makes me nervous that it keeps being tested. It's like playing football with an air floater facing into the wind lol
I've been in for a long time now. My average of what I have left is approx 9p. I do feel like this will come good in 'time' but that's the key thing for most people. If your prepared to wait then it may be an option.
For me I would be lying if I said I was not a bit worried about the recent stagnation/tendency to drop.
I'm not so sure it will hold above 6p now if it went to 5.85p. It seems like it the share is treading water and dips every now and again. If we don't get news how long can we realistically stay at 6p is my worry. With the next floor being sub 6 with the next drop etc
Thanks Sean. Sounds like there is a lot to happen in the next 1-2 years. I've been somewhat reassured by the resistance around 6p as well.
Good post Sean, thanks.
Do we have any timescale for the FEED process to be complete?
I've kept a smaller 60k+ share holding with fingers crossed and keeping my money as cash for the foreseeable future.
Try this link, on Shell's biofuels section it lists projects. Select the " + " icon on United Kingdom and it mentions AltAlto / VLS with a link to the projects website.

Well how about reversing your trade so you get back what you paid in.
Surely some level of incompetence on their end to make the transaction if it is not compliant. Why should you lose money?
You can buy at 6.22p and sell at 6.05p. it's pretty tight. Earlier the buy and sell was the same at 6.1414p.
