I also had a letter from SC. This concerns Afren Plc Ord 1p, which is the name of the "security". The offer was either to convert my shares that are in my ISA onto a Share Certificate (cost £25.00) or they will be moved outside my ISA into my general account on 8 September. This is because shares that are not trading on any market cannot be held in an ISA. The letter also suggested gifting these shares to charity. They are almost certainly worthless imho.

See TOFT's message. There appears to have been a consolidation at 1 new share for every 200 old ones. Unfortunately lse does not adjust its prices for such issues.

A big rise today on very low volume. Does anyone here know why, or should I take my 20% profit and run?

No need to get excited - the 900% rise earlier today was due to a 1 for 10 consolidation.

Looking down the recent trades, it seems that lse is still suffering from a very dodgy feed!

I am used to big spreads on small companies, but why is the spread here, on one of the world's biggest companies, over 10%.
