Covid is going to be with us for a very long time. Don't some people say forever? I don't think you need to be the 1st treatment licensed to be a success. As SOG has said, there will be room for many different treatments - suitable for different patients at different stages of illness - and its all going to go on for a very long time. 20% down here and there? I can live with that. Because whats's coming, in time, could be astronomical.

Wondering if Monday will see a massive drop in SYN and SAR. Lead story on NBC news is MABS will save the day...

Anti-virals like SYN and SAR are great products - but shorters and MMs could have a field day and attack SYN and SAR if sentiment is weakened by the MABs stories. Anyone know if we can see evidence of a raid or massive drop coming - will short positions be open and visible on Sunday? Do let me know if you can see the signs. Or will SYN and SAR fight back and issue RNS on Monday morning - assuming they care about their sp.

I might be wrong in all of this - so any thoughts appreciated - otherwise I'm ready to sell 80% of my SYN at 8am on Monday and hope to buy it back for considerably less at tea-time. SAR is harder to second-guess - there might be a brief bounce first thing and then it might also drop?

Anyway I might be totally wrong so any thoughts appreciated.

Reading stories like the one below, the lead on NBC news -makes me think we might have MAB-inspired MM womble attack on Monday - but perhaps people who have been around the markets for longer than me will know how likely or unlikely that is.

So news for AZN and Roche on MABS - then shorters appear? Anyone watch SAR today where a middling RNS plus AZN/Roche news may, according to some on the board, have been used to precipitate a 'bear raid' and 18%+ drop in sp. If that is what happened to SAR, I think about 25% down at the moment over the last 2 days then be aware. If this board is crawling with lice and the sp takes a weird downwards slide. It will be a buying opp, I think - but please, those who really understand this side of the market, comment and advise. Because I cannot be certain.

SAR board - some of them think it was a bear raid today after boring/middling RNS. So maybe recovery and up again on Monday. Or another raid. Maybe more experienced hands can read these fluctuations. Certainly watch if you are interested in buying opportunity. I bought a lot today when it was cheap-ish so a recovery will suit me fine.

Thanks for your thoughts on SAR. I have been studying the science - its a long road reading about MABS and anti-virals. And I haven't started on their cancer treatment. Today's sp action was dramatic - almost 20% down at one point - I had a big sale and dived into SAR - kind of reckless but so far so good. Sp seems to have a floor around 6.8-7p - at the moment.

sorry. thats not very sophisticated analysis. but a great chance to buy sub 7p.
And I think this board agreed a while ago - or at least BOJO 2020 noted -that 7p was alright for SAR.

Sorry I finally got to grips with the day's pharma news - it was good news for 2 MAB or monoclonal antibody treatments - one from AZN and one from Roche - however they are not the be all and end all of COVID treatments - even the Roche, say the BBC, is very expensive and will only be used for a minority of patients. The AZN which is a long way, I think, from being given to anyone...get this....comes in the form of an injection that promises an entire year of protection - I don't think a lot of people are going to be all that keen. And as I posted earlier, there has been very serious concern that MABS may actually cause the virus to mutate and produce new even more dangerous variants. So I don't think its bad news for SAR at all. But people panic and freak out and as many posters have noted, some little cabals of traders and MMs will manipulate the dips - who wouldn't I guess - there's £££ to be made. I might be a sucker but I bought more today and I will continue to buy more as I hope the sp will go up. Unless really bad SAR news hits - there's no reason for such a big drop. Synairgen took about 4% today on the MABS. Thats probably about right. More or less.

So if today's drop was precipitated by some good news regarding MABS - and today's drop otherwise is manufactured and as some have said, a fill yer boots app - but anyway back to the MABS - here is the potential problem with MABS. And even if MABS can soldier along they will not be the only COVID therapy in town.

Sorry just been checking the Guardian - the MHRA approved a Roche MAB. But I believe we have issues with MABS - potentially even producing new variants (Thoth published this data a while ago, I will try and find the link). But was there an AZN announcement today? Either way MABS are unlikely to be the only or best Covid therapeutic. If you're running away from SAR because of that news....you may regret!
