Fruits ...
maybe this AZ reference (see below) is regarding a larger UNIVERSAL trial (?) - given the 2021-24 dates) of which 'ours' is just a part ?
"When is the study starting and how long is it expected to run for?
November 2021 to June 2024
Where is the study run from?
Southampton General Hospital (UK)
Who is funding the study?
1. Janssen Pharmaceuticals (USA)
2. AstraZeneca (UK)"

From another perspective, I'm sure that SNG are not doing this to convince themselves.
Where any upcoming trial (including observational) that is covering the area of respiratory virus then SNG would welcome the exposure giving the large pharma's footing the bill, and why would they not? Surely this is another layer of marketing such as the upcoming conferences that provide successive springboards for SNG chasing those PT's.
If there is a team travelling lets hope (bearing in mind the undeniable focus on the US) its because 'behind-the-scenes' dart throwing has moved on from the 'chat room' to the need for physical eye-to-eye contact in the same room. Wild speculation maybe, but at least there are actual events to look forward to that may just be the stepping stones we are looking for, and RM gets some much needed wind behind his sails.
"Health experts warned yesterday that cold homes could have long-term consequences for child health. Leaving heating off this winter would damage children’s lungs and brain development. That lung damage could lead to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema and bronchitis in adulthood, according to Prof Ian Sinha of Alder Hey children’s hospital – co-author of a review published yesterday."

Role just popped up on LinkedIn with link to SNG website - still trying to fill it seems

"Professor Philip Banfield, chairman of the British Medical Association (BMA), believes there is a “distinct possibility” of doctors going on strike this winter. He said the “terrible state” of the NHS was forcing doctors to make daily decisions about which patients live and die, and causing a slump in morale."

Worrying times ahead potentially which, added to expected rises in Flu/Colds/Covid (not to mention new variants), means there will be much for SNG to do in terms of PR & marketing their product.
At a basic level, people (and maybe investors even more so) just want to be right, whether news is good or bad. It certainly seems to drive emotions here. Undoubtedly more complicated than a binary choice, but if forced to over-simplify, I'd say we individually fall into the camp of fostering out the current / past negatives to focus on the desire for future success because we believe we will be right, or we focus on the current / past negatives and so err on the side of any glimmer of hope being too risky and so play it down. There's the rub for me. No harm, as we are who we are we just need to accept it .. hopefully gracefully. GLA.
Personally, I can see only a positive indication from this hire, and no need to dissect further than to acknowledge some job description highlights ... that suggest (to me at least) someone on the move and not just sitting at a UK desk sharpening pencils for some distant happening. Worth noting .. yes! ... Worth arguing over ... no !
" ... the candidate will work closely with .... external companies."
"Ability to travel Internationally to scientific meetings as required."
It would seem unrealistic to think that major pharma's (esp. those with big cash pots) are not seeing / hearing global scientific communities continue to hail the performance, efficacy and apparently wide benefits of INF's and the corroborative effect of all of these papers when aligned together. Add to that the variant agnostic property, the already proven safety and a unique, patented delivery system. Why are they waiting ? The answer maybe lies with the business side rather than the scientific side ? We may never know, what ever happens. Patience and keeping the faith seem to be the only short term PI solution .
I guess the question as to what one may accept given an BO/TO being offered simply depends on timing, and when it comes relative to, which of the several news results we are expecting have come out and what they are, and what else are we still waiting for. Personally I would be very disappointed with £1-1.50, but thats with (aspirational) expectations of awaited 'good' news (including PT inclusion) pushing the SP to those levels anyway, with a BO/TO offer coming closer to news of EUA/awaited PT results, which if 'good', one would hope may double again to £3+.
On the proposal that a £1+ offer comes before any news ... I personally would be somewhat conflicted, but probably buoyed by the fact that a Pharma does see value and would tempted to hold out on that basis ... but , then again, everything comes with a wtfdik caveat. GLA & DYOR.
Not wanting to keep anything going as to whether Doc Fauci is saint or sinner, I was coincidentally this am listening g to a 2 May 2022 int'v with him when he answered (one would have to say honestly, given the inward criticism) the question of the US's Covid response ...
“We have a very heterogeneous population, many of whom have a much greater risk of developing severe disease—mostly minority populations or brown and Black populations. Not only are they in occupational situations that put them at greater risk of getting exposed, but they have underlying conditions that are much more likely than you see in the general population: hypertension, diabetes, obesity, chronic lung disease. And that’s why they’ve suffered desperately greater than the general population.
Also, we have an uneven health care system. The access to good health care isn’t evenly distributed throughout the country, where it is in other nations that have more uniform health care systems. They’ve done much, much better than we have. Those are just a few of the reasons why, even though we’re a very rich country, even though we were deemed to be as well or better prepared than anyone else for a pandemic, we did quite poorly. We have almost a million deaths over a two-and-a-half-year period. That is very serious.”
I post just as a reference to where (geographically) SNG) appear to be focussing the drive to pursue test data and (hopefully) EUA/commercialisation. The US has the money but clearly needs to plug the numerous gaps in their healthcare system. Hard to see that SNG would not have a place at that upcoming table.
Many thanks (as ever) to Jint & Seaboy for their posts which are always worthy of attention.
Out of interest I counted back the references I noted to medical/science reports/journals highlighting the benefits on INF's that the researchers on here have posted. I have 12 in the last 6 months alone. I no doubt missed some and there are probably others that were missed. It is certainly encouraging to have this level of scientific evidence to stand above the supposition and conjecture that we are all otherwise left with. So, with Seaboy's personal/professional analysis cutting through the scientific jargon, I remain hopeful. If like me you are not au fait with the medical technicalities, trust in what at least has some science behind it, written by those who actually know what they are talking about.
... are people on here going to get out of the school playground that they have chased each other into, and don't seem to be able to find their way out because they all blame each other for starting it. For the love of God ...grow up, be patient and post like you are an adult.
