Interesting analyses Starchild. Question is why, if they are not dumping (which I agree, we should have seen the RNS for their holding dropping below 7%, although I thought the figure for declaring was 3%) is the share price suppressed still. Do you think this is due to the delay until the 13th of the option to take the additional funding? It could just be that this is getting too complicated for the average bear and they don't understand what's going on so don't take a chance.

Would be surprised if there isn't oil in the cuttings. The big question is whether there is a seal so that the area is abnormally pressurised so it can be produced. And how big is the isolated reservoir....methinks....

Nothing changed mate, the finance house is still unloading there 300 million shares.... this will only rise either when they are sold or when news means that big buyers absorb them. Another couple of weeks at these levels I suspect.

whoops yes forget the placing :-). Even so, it doesn't significantly change the fact that 40-50 seems closer than 20..

I don't know for sure but would love to discuss.
SO if its 40bln ignoring other assets,
assume 70% recovery = 28bln
assume 50% cost of recovery = 14bln
assume 50% tax = 7bln
assume 50% transport to market = 3.5blm
Half it again for all the things I don't know about and its 1.75bln

Divide that by the 500milion shares = $3.5 a share......

I'm not suggesting its worth $3.5 a share, but there has a to be a lot of expenses to get it 20p. I'm not even an amateur on the subject let alone professional so would just be interested to know what I am missing.

To Me its just political. By the time there is a decision, the well will be drilled. Then if there is a lot of oil, there is no way they will leave it in the ground, if a duster, they can support the greens and appear environmentally squeeky. Sure they don't have the balls to make a decision but it doesn't matter. As long as it doesn't hinder the drill, surely that is what we want.
