Interesting read! But this stuff is still in the laboratory and literally years away from even 10kW units - this article speaks about a 100W cell and questions around even 10x that at 1kw to 10kW:

Upon diagnosis, this was due to low fuel utilisation of the off-the-shelf SOFC at its intended operating condition, which the supplier’s anode reduction process is likely to have caused. This illustrated that the commercial availability of reliable SOFC stacks can be an obstacle to research in this field. However, an effective design was delivered that has practically demonstrated the use of waste heat and unconverted fuel to pre-crack for high temperature SOFCs (autothermal cracking without power input for heating), thus a direct ammonia to power system that avoids the need for upstream purification steps was delivered. Questions remain around the precise composition of its exhaust, and suggestions for a follow up prototype are to remove the vacuum vessel and scale-up the power rating of the system to the 1-10kW scale."

Give it time, sure, but seriously, not a competitor. And of course it's the end game for all of us to have a better energy source - perhaps AFC is already involved in this sort of research. Hope so.

Which is quite impressive for a company which, you'd think, would want to get there apparently world beating tech out there. So their profiles and that of the company is locked down. Even my Aussie contacts can't see anything.

I am also thinking this is a fraudulant website. Might be worth popping it off to the FCA and suggest shorts are behind it because that is the exact definition of posting false and misleading information, especially that their only contact in the world of business appears to be trolling AFC Energy - of all the posts of all the companies in the world. (that and I couldn't even find Breton Energy on Linked in after following the link on the website).

This is a good example to the low level that these scumbags will drop to - actual proven (I've saved the website to my computer in case the FCA are interested later) rubbish to try to discredit a listed company.

Alderan - The new short that has opened up for £250k is likely responsible for the majority of the drop. selling shares you don't own either keeps the price static, or drops it, as buys are not having a positive impact on the share price.

You can tell when you hit a sore spot when they carry on spouting. just report all posts that are negative, think it takes about 5-7 reports to remove the post, and if they carry on doing it suspension, and past than banning (probably why they are on a new account but same old tricks).

Anyway. back to AFC - lots of news to come and very good entry point for LTHs, not the shorters (sorry mates).

Regards buys/sells - traders play the board by popping up sell trades before dropping them again. Main issue today has been loads of unknowns trades which have been both buys and sells.

The fact is they have a contract and your guesswork isn't really based on much. This isn't a £1m tiny company it's got leading tech and significant contracts.

The price sensitive part of it has passed - do you have any data source confirming it did NOT happen? Did AFC state they would update the market when it would happen? So far it's just a load of supposition...

Just don't be fooled into selling - not a lot between here and 6.5p on the ask.

No worries quiz away! Still get my head around thes SETS shares as it appears simple but it moves a lot for no reason - just depends if there are any DMA trades (which also weight the bid/ask). Basically it is less opaque than SETSqx and you can begin to see the BS that goes on behind the scenes.

Still, looking fair at the moment for a leg up. If i was the new shorter I'd cancel my weekend leave and try to work out how to get out of the mess I've just put my company in.

Ade - as i said it's SETS. So what you have is traders or otherwise putting in DMA bids and asks and controlling the perceived bid/ask. currently there is just 50k left on the sell side before it jumps to 6.5p and the first of the MMs, buy/sell vol differences currently 900k buy and 500k sell. So just be patient, not sure it'll stay beneath 6p much longer.
