RE: between TOM and QFI16 Apr 2021 10:25
I think QFI have a much better chance of success as their options and potential business opportunities are more diverse. However, I recently bought into Tomco based on their low value versus potential. Their current market value is around £7,500,000. If you believe in the oil sands story, based on the figures we've been given so far, this valuation looks extremely low.
Assuming Greenfield manage to get the technology working successfully and the end product is as good as they believe it will be, the figures stack up. Based on one plant producing 5,000 bpd x say 300 days production per annum, times say $30/barrel profit, we're talking $45m per annum split between Tomco and Valkor. A fair few assumptions there but not by any means ridiculous. This does not include any potential profits from clean sands sales or premium pricing addition for the end product, so a £7.5m company has the potential, (and it remains potential for the time being) to earn $20m+ per annum from 1 successfully running plant.
No USP as there are other companies holding oil sands licences but to me the figures made it a worthwhile punt. As ever, time will tell....
