strictly - it'll help to gauge and report the level of active support for this direction of travel from across the shareholder base.
Took a while but HL finally got it added as a corporate action button against ORPH in all of their accounts i.e. ISA, SIPP, F&S ... so now easy to do there if you haven't yet.
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-launches-covid-19-antivirals-taskforce-to-roll-out-innovative-home-treatments-this-autumn
CF presentation slides from 9th April includes:
World’s first Coronavirus challenge model – Controlled human infection model ..
'... This will aid in fast-tracking the testing of antiviral and vaccines against the coronavirus family ...'
I should think good chance ORPH will play a central role in this new work.
I too would say you've misunderstood. Each of the non-core assets has been sitting in the company not really doing a whole lot and not adding any value at all for quite a while. Almost all effort, energy, resource has gone towards building the core business into the global leader it now is, just ready for the boom in demand for its services.
So hiving off the non-core assets does nothing to reduce the value and anticipated rapid expansion of the core business.
As separate entities the non-core assets can each get the time, expertise and resource they need to flourish. We're all fortunate that we'll get some of that for nothing. Others will have to buy-in to be part of those particular stories, each of which could be mega in its own right.
trader - good sleuthing again, thanks. I'd like ORPH to RNS this -important that the wider world knows we're centrally involved in this. And I think the link with Oxford Uni will be helpful to promote too.
I guess we're slightly the victims of CF's excellent presentations and other regular newsflow, in that when there is even the slightest lull (while they're actually doing the work!), upwards pressure on sp reduces and we get a bit of retracement.
On the plus side, with so much going on in the company there's a chance of something significant coming out any day.
So personally I wouldn't want to risk even small reduction in my holding here and miss another step gain ..
Other point is that for any sells at these levels there are buys and that helps consolidate sp around this higher level.

If they'd put it all in ORPH they'd have got over 250% (may 15 2020 to today)
Trader did indeed share research and possible implications on Telegram. It is a brilliant piece of work and compelling. I'm not going to share it here - I think that's for him to do if he so wishes. I wouldn't want to influence anyone else, but I have been buying all the way up to current prices and with Trader's conclusions in mind I have bought more (entirely my own responsibility). GLA
ISA - I'm not asking for pumping - agree that's the last thing we need.
I just want a fresh, up to date, honest expression of where this project is now at, with all its opportunities (which I'm sure we all believe in) laid out for all to see. And I want it to convey real excitement - we've all been talking about how things have moved forward in last 6 months, endgame closer etc etc - that is (should be) exciting and we need others to be as aware and interested as we are.
There's a huge opportunity to present CNR and current project status as the genuine, substantial opportunity it is. MC unfortunately continues to resist taking it, I believe to all our detriment.
Ricky - thanks. so there may be a one-off cash distribution? ... further in it says "As noted above, the cancellation of the Company's share premium account and the Deferred Shares should enable the Directors to eliminate the current retained earnings deficit on the Company's statement of financial position and create distributable profits."
I accept they may choose not to distribute all / any - they may have something better to do with it. But CF has said before that he would like to make cash dividend payment(s) to shareholders this year in addition to shares or equivalent in the spin-offs.
Any thoughts on this bit "The Directors then propose to apply the reserve arising on the Reduction of Capital to eliminate the Company's accumulated retained earnings deficit on its statement of financial position and, as to the balance, to create distributable profits on the balance sheet of the Company of approximately £39,388,000."
Not sure whether this means these funds will be distributed in full to shareholders as part of this process? If yes, by my calculation, with 669m shares in issue, this is about 5.9p per share i.e. a cash dividend worth about 13% of your holding (at current sp)
Or am I completely misunderstanding?!
It would not be difficult for CNR to put together a 'current status' pack. e.g. Update on financials; including modelling of possible income, profitability etc (no commitment, just to provide an indication in different scenarios); comparison with peers; district overview incl. sites, geology, drill results etc; details on expected production areas, open pits, processing areas etc; photos / vids from the area - help make it real - including some showing recent activity; interviews with locals - benefits from CNR to date and hopes for the future; interviews with national and local government re importance of this development; interviews with CNR staff on the ground - what they do day to day etc ...; Interviews with all Board members (not just MC) about their involvement, contribution, expectations for the development ; MC summary and investment proposition as it stands now.
Can be structured so people can dip in to bits they're interested in, or view the whole lot.
Most of above already exists. It just needs a willingness to pull it together, make it happen, generate awareness, interest, knowledge, excitement in the project which I'm afraid seems completely lacking at present.
Tester - Why wouldn't investors see the benefits / implications of the potential positives you mention?
I'll tell you. Because MC has no interest / ability in generating that interest. He arrogantly thinks that he can keep doing the same things he's done, in the same way, for the last 10+ years. His view is if market / investors don't get it that's their problem. He maintains market cap (as defined by sp) is nothing to do with him, and he has no responsibility for it.
In my view (I may have mentioned this before!) the company must get some proper, professional investor relations on the case (NOT useless Walbrook).
It's a great story, it's just that MC can't tell it in a compelling way, in terms of the opportunity and benefits to current and new investors.
anyway, back to ORPH itself!
not only have we had the unexpected launch of the DiM platform last friday, we now have the 'city rumour' that an II has started build towards a 5% stake, and trades which appear to bear that out. Invesco are gone to all intents and purposes. I doubt any long term holders are selling at the moment so upward pressure on sp should be maintained.
we have CF's indication of 1 or 2 of the spin-offs progressing this month as well as increasingly regular comms about the likely rapidly increasing demand for all of ORPH's core businesses.
plus some exceptional research in the 'other place'.
Feels to me like the definition of a 'sweet spot'! GLA
Great video, thanks for sharing the link, worth taking the full hour to listen as its sprinkled with CF gems all the way through e.g. re DiM - "the world needs it .. now!" (And then we get friday's unexpected announcement that the DiM platform is up, running and open for business ... brilliant!)
Thanks ivy
Trader_3 - intrigued by this thread! looking forward to hearing more - your posting has always been well researched and helpful. So I hope you're right this time! Can you point me towards the Telegram group please, perhaps share a link here? Many thanks. wg
BeContrarian - excellent post, thank you. All of us who have been involved here for a while know CF is totally committed to maximising shareholder value and returns. He has demonstrated this repeatedly to date by his words and actions. He has all the skills and experience to know the optimal way to spin-out the non core assets in whichever ways are going to be the most successful for both the core and new businesses, which will maximise investor returns. I too am anticipating continued gains in both short and longer term.
thank you CF and your teams.
lets hope we investors and they can enjoy the weekend and return refreshed for more of the same next week!
GLA
brilliant stuff Trader_3 - thank you.
All of which means, even though things have gone well for last 6 months, there's still loads of growth to come from here. The company is a leader in several fields of global interest and importance right now. Perfect time to be involved and invested. GLA
I know its been discussed regularly since CF first mooted it, but it was mentioned more than once again, in yesterday evening's presentation (Wally's notes) - Q&A: Where do you see ORPH in a year? - CF: Bigger, better, stronger, doing more of the same and more exciting things. Billion dollar target within a year is a good one to go for.
That's £1.08 per share at current exchange rate and shares in issue i.e. approx 300% increase from current sp. Here's hoping that target is hit!
