What price for an RNS at 7am on 3rd Oct to announce first gas from Southwark and hit the Q4 target bang on ?!

I just hope that IOG won't hold back any further negative news and try to mask it in with positive news as that just negates any potential positive effect on the sp. Far better to get all bad news out immediately and let any subsequent good news have its rightful impact.

Let's hope this message is heard in Portugal......and actioned !

Not a new phenomenon and discussed before on here. Does explain why chart movements often don't tally with the trades on here !

I guess it hinges on whether they can flow one (East) before the other (West) is ready, which someone queried before on here but not sure it was even answered. If they can then Q4 should be workable, but if not then I think we are likely looking at Q1 2023.

The quote below actually states "significant delays experienced to date " which IMHO must mean to date of the RNS late August, and has occurred since the resumption of drilling in early Q3 and is presumably ongoing in the absence of subsequent news to contrary, yet still they continue to target first gas in Q4, but we all know from experience with IOG that could slip back into 2023.

"Southwark A1 (West) production well drilling resumed in early Q3 2022; significant delays experienced to date due to drilling fluid losses, primarily in the Bunter Sandstone Formation".

Can't really be surprised at lack of buyers given lack of news regarding resolution of issues as the whole thing could going to **** for all any of us know at the moment, but IOG's track record of poor comms suggests they wouldn't utter a word until its happened and they would then just let us know and bid us farewell and thanks for the memories. So for now we either remain invested with everything crossed and keep the faith it'll come good, or head for the exit to watch from the safety of the sidelines which many seem to have done. Huge gas prices mean little if there's a risk you can't extract it effectively and keep it flowing in sufficient volumes and quality, and until IOG can convince the market they can and will then we are where we are I'm afraid.

Entirely agree AB, but surely the more positive news out there linked to SAV then the chances of influencing the right people increases.

Alligator- I wasn't suggesting they'd respond to a post on a board, just if the advfn rumour was confirmed as true by an RNS update. Hasn't happened though so either IOG still haven't found the root cause of salinity or they don't intend to update the market on a resolution until its done and dusted and full flow rates can occur from both wells simultaneously. In true IOG form it'll probably just be mentioned in with whatever the next update is, not necessarily specific to the salinity issue fix or plan, in the same way that we only found out about salinity and fluid loss as aside mentions in the interims.

Surprised not to see an RNS today to confirm if ADVFN comment was right about it being Blythe with the problem. If correct then they could flow Elgood at full rate whilst working on Blythe issue ? But I guess IOG feel this is not newsworthy and will remain silent, or maybe its a false rumour and IOG still none the wiser yet ? Who knows. I'd love to know if BH get updated on such issues as surely they would be demanding to know otherwise. No reason they should be treated differently to pi's though as we're all just investors together.

Citizen - probably right as the rise so far seems in line with similar stocks. So if this is just traders then likely to be traded out again to pocket quick profit and back to sub 30 without positive newsflow specific for IOG is my guess.

Anyone with real time info able to post what the real buys v sells are this morning, as LSE chart seems to show only small buys but larger sells, but the upward movement suggests that's not right ?

So is there a leak of good news about the issues which is causing this sudden buying splurge this morning? Must be a reason for it surely as sp was stuck around 28p area last week.

Only down 0.35 as we speak so hardly having a field day ?

I feared we'd have already seen a repeat drop to low 20's by now so maybe this is the bottom region for now and any positive RNS re. solutions to salinity issue and/or fluid loss might see us back into mid to high 30's again, pending news of first gas at Southwark which hopefully will bring a further significant rise, as would other positives regarding licences and seismic results, etc.
Obviously any further negative newsflow would likely e punished with a plunge for us to sub 20 levels and facing a tortuous road back.

Not a great article that as only Lithium in play now for SAV, no other metals that article incorrectly mentions.
