But pretty sure it'll end up being more than 17p, so therefore it'll not change my investment outlook as i'll gain from our current position.

Looks like it may become the next Venezuela, a northern Warlord has his heart set on the capital held by the inplace western backed government (I fully expect the Russians to be supplying him weapons (its seems their bag these days)).

How much oil do Libya produce these days (it may be drying up/blowing up soon ?)

Well I think given the unknown nature of the find in the whole of CPO-5 the more intel they gain the better & if that needs deeper then so be it.

I mean have they found the OWC layer anywhere in the whole block ?

If not its surely worth trying, it also increases the reserve captured & allows a more accurate prediction of reserves, all important.

Wasn't there a statement not long ago regarding the if the OWC layer is 40ft below the 240ft known oil column it would add several million barrels to the reserve etc..but they just couldn't find it there as they hit bedrock etc..

In my book intel is just as important on this drill as strike/flow/production, so let them get on with it.

In addition why on earth would we use up all our cash on such a bid when one of the greatest threats to shareholder (inc director) wealth is a cheap ass takeover.

That cash pile is useful for a host of defensive measures.

We would be even more wide open & juicy target.

It could be entirely more simple than this.

For example maybe the directors want to retire in 2 - 4 years & now all current acreage have development plans to fit that time scale anything new would be wasted effort.

Whilst on the subject of Electric cars.

I attended a conferance at a Midlands based hotel recently, they had this year installed 2 Tesla charge points on a 400 car parking area.

The course tutor owned one of the Teslas (which she had purchased at a signifiant cost premium compared with a diesel) & prior to attending the course had had to ring in advance if the Hotel supported Tesla charging or she would have driven her run about (diesel car) instead.

Right there are far to many cost barriers for Joe public to even comprehend vs actually outlay.

I mean one expensive Tesla that carn't complete half of real world journeys, a second car as back up, & the hassle of pre booking Tesla spots(God forbid it was already taken).

Lets not forget England is probably more advanced than most oil using countries at present for Electric adoption, & well it sure doesn't feel like a threat yet. Feels more like a money sink testing bubble yet imo.

Isn't the price of oil a better indicator of value rather than "general sector negativity".

Ie..show me a company in any sector making money hand over fist & that companies shares have a value based on that companies profit making/return to investor potential (no matter what the MM muppets do with the values on odd binges, or for that matter no matter who sells the shares, eventualy a shares intrinstic value ought to be revealed)

The general sector talk is the tail wagging the dog imo - investors will flock to returns vs fashion fads (& such fads can swing away from the sector as problems develope in any electric roll out which hasn't returned money to investors in it quickly - Lets lob a Tesla investor in at this point & see how happy he is to be involved in the Electric fashion boom on his side of the fence - & i bet he is wondering when he gets his profits out of all the investment costs going in).

The only time the Electric Boom should worry us is if the Oil demand drops because of it & that sure aint on the cards yet.

I personnally think of Amerisur on a 2 to 4 year investment time window on my concerns list Electric Vehicles doesn't feature - of more importance is either a low ball take over or more seriously a massive downturn.

The reason im 'ALL IN' on this stock is whilst many stocks out there have the potential for huge growth they for the most part offset that with the potential for huge loss & are therefore a gamble (or at least beyond my capability to either identify or evaluate) & at heart im not a gambling man.

Amerisur to me is different. I dont feel im gambling. I feel safe.

Based on the following:-

1) A combination of old sputtering reserves, Rex + insituition sell offs, Oil not in fashion & some historical BOD drilling campaign promise failure/overpaid/dry wells etc...has lead the SP to a massive low entry point. Bad for old guard great for new entrants.

2) Despite BOD undelivered overpromises, they do appear significantly better than history suggests. Oil pipeline construction, cheap asset acquisition, utilisation of cash in line with business requirements, willingness to buy company shares & great foresight for dealmaking.

3) BOD age, they have been doing this for along time & are getting to the retirement ages & need to monitise all their assets reasonably soon. All deals done so far bring this monitisation of assets closer to 2 to 4 years max imo, & bringing so many large players into the business helps any future bidding war for the whole or maybe greater price sold off peicemeal to the interested parties.

4) Growth on Aim driven by positive news, CPO-5 Potential is huge & where our main growth is likely to be found the constant well news, huge rig on site, extra rig speculation, depth & quality of reserves, President support all going to drive massive positive newsflows. Yet it doesn't end there we now have several large oilers fasttracking & bankrolling our other acreage & potential third party oil pipe farm outs all going to generate tonnes of news.

5) Minimal downward risks re no funding issues, stable oil price (& we can make a profit well below Shale/Saudies price threshholds) positive local Goverment, no pound devaluation exchange risk (we operate in dollars & only use pounds in accounting disclosure). Yes im sure there will be dry wells here & there but as long as the reserves & production keep growing who knows the upper limits.

All that is required is time, in particular for the Institutions to get used to the new feel of Amerisur vs the old Amerisur of my point "1" & that lets us all build decent holdings while we impatiently wait for the rest of the world to catch up to what we know.

But got carried away with my reply :)

Willec appears to be one of my kids in the back seat of the car, highly excitable, impatient (are we there yet), full of mediocre less than useful information (ive topped up), & reading the horoscope section in a magazine (code 1 alert).

Whilst on the subject of useless information I got 1,013 free shares this morning sold 81,277 shares @ 16.66p & bought 82,290 shares @ 16.42 one hour later, it felt cheap & dirty just like the rest of this post.

If we hit a connected lake, i'd expect a big flow + excellent information on any pressure drops at our other well to help them guess at whats under CPO-5.

The results aren't just yet, as the usual suspects havent started their posts about a native community uprising, as dirty Amerisur rape & pilliage the virgin jungles.

TBH I carnt remember witch article / interview I saw saying the £2billion.

But if the company is valued today at £200m (SP 16.5p) then x10 = £2 billion = (SP £1.65)

Only a rough estimate ofc, nothing scientific & to achieve that kind of selling price it would prolly take All of Amerisur assets, CPO-5 to indeed be huge ocean (proved by many wells, some far flung to widen the net), finds on the rest of our portfolio, a fully utilised pipeline & a bidding war from interested parties to drive up the final company sale figure.

As I said only rough, based on some odd comment on an interview / article.

If the directors are giving us a clue that companies with our potential assets once revealed go for 2 Billion (the whole company not just CPO-5), I damn well want more than +14p for 30% CPO-5.

£2 Billion thats more like £1.60 a share, CPO-5 will need to work a damn site harder by the end of the appraisal 2 yrs & I wouldn't even dream of selling it until alot more than 4 wells are trianglating the Ocean & a meaningful reserve figure has landed on the Balance Sheet.

Who cares about about the share price after this well, its knowledge we are after, we will know isolated or mini lake of oil, screw what the MM's or the Rex's sells or neone elses agenda - we got a lake of oil.

We just wait for the next well & hopefully the lake grows in size & so on...When after 2 yrs & this process has repeated time & again & we have a better understanding of what lies under CPO-5 (+other assets) do you really think whether this next well recovers 20% or 30% or 50% before retracing & moving on up will anyone will give crap.

This one well wont make the money your looking for probably, only several of these wells will do that & the ocean of oil theory proved, & then the ultimate goal - the sale of the company & cash out time.

You are either in this short term or long term & every sensible post on this forum screams LONG TERM (at least 2 yrs) so belt up or ship out.
