Ian - It's hard to know where to start with so much nonsense written in one post. The most important thing to grasp is Cineworld is not one company - it's a group of companies with the Plc (in which you own shares) sitting at the top with everything else owned underneath. All of the group companies are being lifted into Crown and then Crown is being transferred to the Newco is settlement of the date. Employees will not have their contracts with the Plc but with which ever subsidiary they work for. So all the contracts novate over to the Newco. Same with all the commercial contracts.

The Newco is listed offshore, Caymen islands iirc. Mooky and Israel are also having their contracts terminated so are not getting 7.5% of the Newco but part of a $35m pay off of the current management.

The administration is basically winding down what will effectively be an empty company. It will have no assets.

I think from 2016 to 2021 Boohoo had yearly rising net profit and yearly rising earnings per share (eps) this is what helped the share price to go up so much.

People thought these rises would continue because Boohoo was the cheapest globally for fast fashion.

The problem was, we ignored Shein and didn't take it as a serious threat.

So Shein became the cheapest globally for fast fashion and ended up taking a load of Boohoo's revenue and profit. Hence why Boohoo has been making a loss.

PeePee - other than a small click of insiders no one knows if shein makes any profit.

Plus you keep banging on about boohoo from 2015. It’s a completely different business to back then. Much bigger and much more diversified. You talk about boohoo being finished but they are only starting in terms of the businesses and brands they have required.

Not withstanding the fact that they survived by a whisker when the priming facility was put in place during COVID.

You don’t have to be Nostradamus to understand that this company was a bankruptcy risk, especially if you had read the pages and pages of going concern statement in the 2021 annual report.

The only thing with getting all the lawyers together is the company haven’t done anything illegal. This whole episode has been a legal process playing out in terms of who gets what in a bankruptcy and in what order.

Directors over promising or being optimistic isn’t against the law. The money being paid to them is part of the settlement in relation to Newco so nothing to do with the Plc.

The whole stock market is a gamble. Not really if you do it properly and sensibly. With the appropriate diversification the market wins over time.

If you sell products and services for more than you have paid for them this is called profit.

Profit is good and I like it a lot.

It's important that business make profit and the market likes it as well.

Beware of companies that don't make a profit.

Maid - That's not how bankruptcies work. First priority is salvaging the business, jobs, etc. The chapter 11 is just the US version of an administration. Main benefit of running the process in the US is the management still get to run the company under the supervision of the judge. If this had happened in the UK an administrator would have took control of the business. The $1.94 financing was all about keeping the company liquid while this process was being played out, amazingly no one wanted to understand that at the time and thought it was a fresh round of financing and a sign of confidence in the groups position.

The lenders haven't paid anything for the shares in issue, £4.5bn is how much they are out of pocket!
