I’ve got shares in TED. They are trying to turn it around and are way behind the curve when it comes to e-commerce.

This result today has confirmed the previous guidance re the battering from the pandemic in terms of smart and occasionware sales falling through the floor.

However there is plenty of room for growth and they have a really strong brand. They have made some decent headway with cost cutting and have positive cash flow and plenty of liquidity.

I was discussing this earlier at work. I’ve been after one of the Weber griddles for my BBQ and went round a couple of garden centres yesterday and they are sold out everywhere. Other than a nice drive through the cotswolds it was a complete waste of time.

Got home for online and ordered one from millets of all places and had an email today confirming dispatch.

Bricks and mortar retailers are that badly stocked it’s like they went to fail.

If you read the RNS the delay is at the request of the auditor BDO so they could finalise their internal review.

So not strictly TEDs fault without knowing why the auditor was delayed.

I think the clear point from it all is we need all stores open and no more lockdowns.

Continued growth in e-commerce is good and will hopefully get stronger.

Also good to start moving towards a better sales mix and not over relying on promotions, less of a busy fools mentality.

This is going to be a long haul but the potential is outstanding. A decent recovery play that seems to be under he radar at the moment.

Need to have a good read through the accounts this evening though.

I’m stuck in my second foray into Bidstack. 50% down since end of Feb.

I think it’s got so much potential though but due to silence of board you never know what’s going on and how on target we are.

Even the Nasdaq is moving in the right direction now.

This isn’t an additional tax though is it? This is just a commitment to not have a corporate tax rate under 15%.

Current UK rate is 19% but moving to 25% from 2023.

For example all the big tech companies are based in Ireland where they are only paying 12.5% at the minute.

Hi prophet. That’s good points raised there. ARB GBP results are exposed to two big factors Bitcoin volatility and current USD weakness.

When they both turn in our favour though the GBP revenue will pile on.

I’d expect the updates to be a bit like Argo.

This month we have added 10 clients with funding of £100m. Then the next month say 15 clients 180m, etc, etc.

Hi peak - once this is up an running there won’t be tranches so to speak but an ongoing continuous monetisation. I recall in one of the interviews that they adapted the platform so that it could run all four regions together under the same framework as long as they reported under IFRS.

I expect once it’s running we’ll hopefully get monthly updates of onboarded customers and contract values.

That review reads more like a disgruntled shareholder rather than an ex employee

Peak - if I recall correctly this was in relation to the the pilot. The problem is we don’t know enough about it. It didn’t involve a proper run of the actual scenario though as the framework/contract was only finalised in December. Plus if it was funded who by and where are they now?

I suspect the pilot tested the process/tech and not actual market conditions of contract, 3rd party funding, etc. Not that there is anything wrong with that but proof of concept will have been achieved once they have proved this works ie, matched several funding to several clients. To have absolute POC I’d also like to know that those clients have been fully audited and their investors, lenders and the wider market have accepted those accounts and the Syme methodology behind them. That’s a longer road though.

I think the signing of the funder will put the ‘going concern’ question to bed and proves one half of the concept.

I think the first bit of big news will be the big reveal, like when Quadrivo were announced, with the actual monetisation announced after once it’s completed.

Hi peak it would be very unusual to plan such big news with the release of the accounts.

The two matters really are completely unrelated.

To understand the acquisition cost you just need to acquaint yourself with the concept of goodwill. Acquiring companies nearly always overpay ... it’s the cost of buying all those potential future cash flows.

As far as I’m aware no one has seem a set of TF accounts so what conclusions can actually be drawn on the valuation of £31m.

We’re going to have to wait and see what reverent they bring to the table.
