The simple answer here is that the American government handed out cheques for people to stay at home. So a whole generation of first time investors spurred on by coinbase, robin hood, WSB, etc, made a lot of money. The sad thing is I'm not sure of how many of them would have got out and how many of them understood the economics of what came next in terms of high inflation and higher interest rates and their affect on equities.

AMC - wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

Tesla - I invested in Tesla in April 2020 as a long term play and only have ten shares left now which I've been holding for sentimental reasons, but it's been my most successful investment in terms of return. I thought it would grow into its valuation over time and the profit is constantly improving, less reliance on regulatory credits, etc, etc. The current turmoil for me is all Twitter related so this is where you look at fundamentals and at the moment I think it's starting to look like a buy again. It's in the perfect market position and all the other manufacturers are struggling to catch them up while still trying to make ICE vehicles.

I truly believe a lot of the memo investors have been burned and have now exited. Which is why crypto is struggling to recover.

They are creating $110m more equity and want to convert all the ape loans into ordinary shares.

That's why their SP tanked - even more dilution. AA rinsing the meme investors who worship him even further.

I had a decent splash out online yesterday. My wife has gone skipping off to the shops today. I fully expect her to come back disappointed later.

It's hard to imagine a situation where nearly £2m is spent on marketing to achieve (even with the rug being pulled under them) such small sales. I mean the target market they are aiming for are less likely to be affected by the cost of living crisis but it looks to me like they need to establish if a market indeed exists at such a heavy price point. They need to carry out some serous price elasticity testing.

There's also £1.4m expenditure under 'other' which really should be broken down further.

Have any markets appeared to sell these paper certificates other then that account that was claiming to be a broker on here a few months ago?

Maid - have you actually read any of the C11 documents? There are various reasons documented by the company as to why cinema isn’t back with a bang - poor recovery from covid, poor slate, etc,etc. If the YE results show cinema back a bang then its against everything we have been told and everything that has happened.

So please either do some proper research or use some common sense. Between this and the Avatar prediction yesterday you’re struggling for credibility. You just look like a day trader who hasn’t the slightest clue about fundamentals and the position the company is actually in.

I think Avatar will definitely have a longer run by virtue of it being a pre Xmas release . I want to go see it myself but am struggling to fit it in. I need a clear four hour slot.

I managed to watch the first one again last week so am fully up to speed.

The main problem when these funds take control of companies they tend to take them private turn them round and then IPO them at a later date.

Not too sure how this translates to the funders in the crypto space.

Hi Chae - that spike in Revlon dropped back pretty quick. That was on the back of a confirmed wipeout as well. The markets are certainly not rational.

I don’t think it’s all that ambiguous. It Hexam’s 97% is correct then it’s a virtual wipeout for the current holders with the convertibles taking control presumably with 51%+ of the reorganised stock. Current unsecured creditors then receive a worthwhile chunk so they can make a ‘meaningful recoveries’.

Have a look at other C11 cases. The sitting shareholders nearly always get wiped out.

The interesting point for me with this AMC development, and it was the same with the reporting on the CP/Regal news, is that these interested parties appear to be negotiating with the lenders and not Mooky and co.

If you read the CW annual report they refer to the use of EBITDAl which is traditional EBITDA less lease payments to give the best idea of cash generated by the operations.

Tegop - you’re spot on with your analysis. AA was very clever at raising cash at the pivotal moments. The WSB were turkeys voting for Xmas.

I think you'll find that Hertz existing shareholders only received 3% of the new company and warrants to purchase more shares. They did receive payment for the old shares though but all the reporting will tell you that this was 'unusual'. Hertz also was fortunate in that as we came out of the pandemiic there was a shortage of new cars due to the semi conductor shortage, so second hand cars were like gold dust and Herz were sitting on a fleet of 500,000.
