Proposed Directors of Tirupati Graphite explain why they have requisitioned an GM. Watch the video here.
Me thinks so. We shall see!!
Nice to see this share going up again. Not a surprise given D's buys and news. Big question is still if this is going to be sustainable and go to further heights or whether the sp will do same thing has done in the previous 2 years and go down as quickly as it went up. My best of luck for the holders here.
Thanks for your views Wooly. You were right, volume increased significantly yesterday, today has dropped a bit again, although still saw gains in sp. I think the mid 20s is going to be very achievable within the next few months. To see the sp above that level, say 30/40p ,we will really need strong news-me thinks, but you never know. In the meantime, it's one of those shares on the AIM that are massively forgotten. Good for people like us that got in early and have the patience for when the day comes. Let's keep an eye open on this one! :-)
Bar any bad/negative news, I think we are very close to the bottom and I think this will bounce back very soon. Bit more patience..
I'm not a chartist, but looking at ALK;s graph is fascinating, particularly when you look at what's done in the last 5 years. On a closer look, support line seems to have been edging upwards slightly in the last few weeks, and the price has not moved at all in the whole December. The times it has done that in the last few years, the sp has tended to go up quite abruptly.. I wonder if we are just about to take off to the mid-20s again? Hopefully so, we will know in the coming weeks, good luck!!
It looks like we ma be going down to the 16.5 p and hopefully a good moment to top up then as it will hopefully go up again, but i would imagine we will need some exciting news to go up through the 20s...anyway, just my opinion while there is no much action here...
Hi All! Made a good short-term profit on this company a while back . Considering two nuclear accidents in the last six months; awareness of potential and damaging disruption in traditional energy supply due to political risk; increasing government protectionism of raw materials; and Western countries struggling to find next technological/industrial boom... well, well....I've gotta come back and try my luck again and at a very decent price- this time for long term. Hopefully, all good here! GLA
Unbelievable how illiquid this share is, but maybe it's time for ANDES now...
what are all those small transactions about? Is that algorithmic trading? 3:46 108.25p 4 £4 Sell AT 13:40 110.75p 49 £54 Buy AT 13:31 108.25p 5 £5 Sell AT 13:25 110.25p 46 £51 Buy AT 13:01 108.25p 8 £9 Sell AT 12:58 109.00p 77 £84 Buy AT 12:58 108.25p 29 Anyway, yes, a production update would be good!!
Thanks for the post. Has the Nationalisation in South Africa already been approved? I thought it was still under discussion...
Thanks for your reply-it is very helpful. I still post here because I am here to learn and I seek productive discussions to understand reasons of other investors that are taking different decisions to mine. It is about learning about the market through other people´s views. I am a private investor and this board is an excellent platform to learn more about investing or so it should be. Institutional investors can discuss things internally, people like me use boards like this, amongst other resources. I hope more people here think this way. My feeback is that you seem to be making the assumption (you call it common sense) that the Kazak authorities would respect free market rules-that´s exactly what I was questioning and you have already answered to that . Much appreciated. By the way, I think I first found out about this news through one of your posts, so thanks for that too. On my side, I still think -like I have done in the past-HMB has great assets and will keep watching HMB although perhaps not posting here. I have sold my stock here as I chose booking some profits in light of the news and I may or may not come back in as and when Kazak authorities or HMB itself give more explanation on those potential changes in taxes for exports and pricing on that "priority buying". GLA
The problem here may be we dón´t seem to have much official info as to what exact terms the Kazak government wants to be the buying partner for the local mining companies, and just all of us(that have or had money on HMB) are speculating on what may or may not be happening next. Budsy, when u say "surely HMB will have a say" is that based on informtion releseased by the Kazak governement or just mere assumption? Judging by the text below (from bloomberg) it looks like even assuming HMB had the "freedom" to keep selling gold to Switzerland, it would be at a higher costs compared to current situation... "The central bank may provide advance payments to Kazakh gold producers, becoming their “secure partner” in the coming years, according to the statement. The bank also asked the government to eliminate value-added tax incentives that spurred gold exports."
Regarding the current sales of gold by HMB as far as I understood in one of the investors presentations they ship the gold to Switzerland once a week (i think on Fridays) and they sell the gold at market price (they are totally unhedged), minus a fee (undisclosed although we were told it was market rate) which is the mark up of that Swiss buyer (buyers?) that specializes in creating gold bars- coins, etc I agree, the key question here is if the Kazak government will buy HMB´s gold at worldwide market rate. GLA
New holder here-it is going down a bit now, probably becasuse gold is going down as well, but still bullish on gold, in fact maybe a good moment to top up now. Also, opefuly, political risk in Fiji, not as high as in other emerging markets, Any views on that, anyone?
Well done Gelston-that´s the spirit, and again good luck to everyone here.
That´s ridiculous, I say that becasue that´s what I believe, if everyone thought the same way in the room no-one woud be thinking. I don´t know about you, I am here to learn while trying to make some money and I am honest on what I say, earlier this week was bullish no this share and so I said it, this news about the Kazak gvernment has made take a different view. In any case, whoever is right only time will tell, but going to terms like "rat" is ridicuous and quite irrespectful. Surely, you can back up your views on the market and this with better arguments.
I do hope HMB will go up as its shareholders deserve it. I am a big fan of HMB but today news are worrying-I don´t like when states or governments make moves like Kazak´´s has done today. I do hope that as you imply HMB will have the freedom to sell at the price convenient to them. We are all here to learn. Time will tell how this one pans out. Best of luck to everyone here.
I am not sure if those are fantatic news for HMB. They are a gret company, but am now out of it for a bit and see how it goes, don´t like the smell of this news at all. On the other hand, it reinforces even more the message that gold has stil a long way up, so probably put my money (and profits) on a ETF gold fund instead.
IMHO it is always best to buy before the news, but you never know maybe your strategy will pay off. I have done a fair amount of research on gold mining companies in the last 3/4 days and in reports of other mining companies HMB tends to be featured as also being undervalued. We have so much gold ready to be extracted, shipped and sold (on a weekly basis, unhgedged) that with this current prices HMB is becoming richer by the minute. Still bullish on this one
sorry for the long link. They talk about HMB, complimentary, of course. https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:GZkQZs4Jn2sJ:minesite.com/media/pub/var/release_downloadable_file/32330.pdf+gold+fund+issue+28&hl=en&gl=uk&pid=bl&srcid=ADGEESgnM3-q_homwjNKTVWw6Dedh-Jz2kWun1gsJVCShuqVUrFajAu8AawAEtlDoD8-cy4tLEYAn3bVvZIRzDhiORvRhyFI53vDCMEdbsk_jW7E8azndl7WLbrhc87_3gr-I-W1MDco&sig=AHIEtbQvZpnjNaVnwyWmzyx-cRjaSzt9Pw
