Seems to be across the board. Maybe the markets realising that Trump's supposed Iran 'peace deal' (yet again) isn't what he claims, and could easily get blown up completely by Netanyahu's determination to continue killing people in Lebanon.

Savage - it's not difficult to be gloomy about the state of UK politics and economy BUT: a/ less than 50% of EZJ's journeys originate in the UK, and they're expanding new routes within Europe (such as from Switzerland, where they're very much needed and welcomed); b/ Burnham will almost certainly have to put up taxes, probably on the rich and wealthier middle classes, which probably won't hit ESJ's demographic that much, but will fund expansion of investment in infrastructure, health and homebuilding that will be of BENEFIT to EZJ's typical UK customers. There won't be an election 'til 2029, and then what happens is anybody's guess. But I don't think it's as bad in the short term (for EZJ, at least) as you think.

Not at all surprised this hasn't gone anywhere fast on the supposed ME 'peace deal' - even IAG has only gone up a couple of percent. I think the good news is already priced in due to the takeover news, the RSI is already 80+, and no-one is going to be buying much without concrete news and more re-ratings such as Barclays. Even expect this to drift down a bit in the short term, and possibly a 5%-7% gap down when Castlelake walks away or tables something no-one will accept. But the re-ratings will come in due course, not worried about this in the medium term.

How do you work that out, then @GingerAle? The price will go down ~20% with a 20% increase in shares (dilution) not up! Which it did, from ~500 to 400. So it's trading at a slight premium @ 420ish which is probably a good sign. Longer term, of course all depends on the maniac in the White House. I'm holding, but I can well see plenty of volatility on all travel-related stocks until he finally loses control in the November elections, or chaos/civil war breaks out. For now, I'm sure him and his cronies are happy insider trading on his regular purely fictional announcements about Middle East peace agreements etc.

EZJ is my biggest holding. Today's drop surely nothing to do with FTSE100, nor the take-over - just more nerves about the mid-East situation, same across the board. Personally I don't see the Castlelake bid getting anywhere near a fair value (£5.80 at a minimum, in my reading of the technicals). Beyond that, the short term price is largely determined by the actions of someone clearly not at all in control of his mental faculties, so it's kind of pointless speculating. Once he's been neutralised (surely only a matter of time) the future of EZY looks extremely promising.

@Scotty277: "as soon as it is militarily possible". Which means no time soon. Trump is only just realising what a disaster he has been talked into by Netanyahu. Crude supplies might be replaced by Putin's blood oil, but jet fuel is going higher yet.

@FoggtheMogg - well yes, but we don't know that 'peace in exchange for the Donbass' is what would on a referendum card. More worrying is Trump's demand for new elections by May 12th - totally unreasonable given the circumstances.

If this oil tanker fiasco blows up in Trump's face, we might see a very different US position on Russia's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine evolving very quickly. The kidnapping of Maduro can't have gone down very well in the Kremlin either...

Interesting to note, @LemonTree1, that you've moved on to *post-peace* challenges to FXPO. It's still as predictable, boring and wrong as your 'Ukraine is doomed' pro-Kremlin garbage propaganda, but at least your political ventriloquists have now got you implicitly mouthing the most important point: Putin is *never* going to succeed in invading Ukraine or stealing FXPO.
