Brokers are consistently wrong, and anyone who has had th3 misfortune of talking to them will know that. Their forecasts are even worse than those of the weathermen and women. And they are essentially crooks too giving early warning to clients ahead of their daft assessments.

Is Me12345 a deramper? Looks increasingly like it to me. Repetitive negative nonsense alongside lots of shorting of a sound company.

Best way to deal with this (given useless regulators) is to declare a healthy dividend which the shorters will have to find!

It is paid tomorrow - 8th July. It is not really a special dividend. £2.35 paid for the financial year that ended a while ago. We're making good progress through the next one.

Agreed. Inflation should encourage ditherers to buy too, and interest rates won't go up far given the wretched state of the economy. If you're getting even 5% pay rises the mortgage soon comes down relatively whereas rents just rise.

The update looks pretty good in the circumstances. Completions down a bit as expected but profit still good, and decent prospects for the second half and beyond. Quality sounding decent enough too. If SP drops I will be reinvesting dividend.

Poor results from the lunar piggies. Hopefully plays into CF's hands as punters buy bulk cheap cards on th3 High St a bit more and eschew the expensive options from supermarkets and the porky boys and girls. Hopefully...

Agreed that the management team seems to be pretty poor. But hard to tell from outside of course. And at least they avoided a capital rise. Obviously labour costs will rise but the basic product is sound so really no excuse to make some money - countless ways to improve it!

I didn't say borrow money to buy shares. I suggested using cash ahead of the dividend which you will get back in a couple of weeks. Gearing the portfolio is dangerous stuff. Only really works if you have a cash pot - sorry if anyone thought I meant getting a loan! I didn't...

Cards to teachers (end of year thanks), funerals, sickness, job losses, new jobs, new babies, weddings, birthdays, etc. People will buy smaller presents (suits CF too with their cheap tat!) but cards will not stop.

If you want to reinvest the div and can borrow the money for a couple of weeks from somewhere else you might find the shares are cheaper now than they will be once others reinvest dividends. I've done that but a bit too early (although today's rise has helped!)...

Having said that I have been taking profits on rises and buying again on dips. With this stock that strategy is working but I'm keeping a baseline holding ready for longer term rises and dividends returning. A way off - yes. But returns will be decent (probably and imho).

And you learned nothing from watching a stock rise 30% and not think you might be wrong. And the rise was after an update. The fall is speculative and mostly linked to market drop and Algo / hedge fund manipulation.

My goodness there are some strange analysts in this group. Cost of manufacturing a card is tiny so increase in costs is easily countered with price rises. Biggest risk here is complete collapse of high street footfall (unlikely) and Covid coming back. Interest rates may rise further but debt is being paid down at a reasonable rate. If the share was worth 65p plus a few weeks ago it's sure worth 48p now. I've bought back another tranche of shares I sold a few days ago at 54p. It's almost like taking a profit!
