The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Bald_eagle,
Yes, a lot of luck underpins most investments.
But, ITV is long established and I never trusted the management of TRMR. For me, they are poles apart.
McCall, in my opinion, is on the money!
That's it for me this year.
Have a good Christmas and a prosperous new year all genuine investors.
After an extensive news scan, I drew a blank!
There doesn't appear to be any logical reason. I wondered if the Lynch case was about to conclude.
All one can offer is this recent writeup from SeekingAlpha:

Do any of us private investors /gamblers ever really make big profits, I like many have done / played this game for some 40 years and the majority profits are small ones ie £1k - £5k at a time.'

jedclampit,
In answer to your question.
In all honesty, I have not made huge amounts either. I have made 17k on one stock, but I stayed long for almost 11 years to achieve that. Fortunately, I pulled it out before the stock in question tanked! (TRMR).
Admittedly, I'm more of a sentiment investor rather than an expert.
PS
Tom can listern to this recording , but whether he does or not, he'll still rain on any positivity whilst throwing in a good measure of misogyny.
By the time factual solid results hit print the boat will be on its way out of harbour. Positive talk, and my belief in McCall's vision, is my que to top up.

No actual date given and no hint to it being good news. Having said that, at current sp it looks attractive IMO:
'Chief executive Phil Caldwell said: "Despite good progress commercially and growing interest in our SOEC technology, we have not been able to conclude a new license partnership in this financial year. We remain confident of securing a new commercial partnership in the coming months and we will provide a year-end trading update in January."

The stock, previously at around 501p, has occasionally fallen below 181p. Despite the anticipated revenue decline, I view the current downturn as a promising investment opportunity based on Ceres' potential. Delays in certain processes shouldn't be interpreted as a sign that Ceres won't ultimately succeed, albeit later than expected. Stay long.
You have to be careful what you believe these days. There are people out there with even bigger noses than Michelle Mone!
'Two weeks ago, the Energy Secretary, Claire Coutinho, told the ONR that the allegations regarding cyber-security, safety and workplace culture were serious and required urgent attention.,

This Morning has been left in chaos after Cat Deeley reportedly turned down the offer.
A decision has reportedly been made on who will be taking over as permanent hosts on This Morning.
With long-time presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield both having left the ITV show this year, the hunt has been on to find their replacements, and there have been a number of stand-ins over recent weeks and months.
The likes of Josie Gibson, Emma Willis, Christine Lampard and Rylan Clark have fronted the popular weekday programme, along with Friday faves Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond, but it is now being reported that SMTV star Cat Deeley and Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shephard are set to land the gig on a full-time basis.
Piers Morgan, will be wetting his pants.
Thankfully ITV no longer deals with the scumbag.
‘In the United States, 'Jeopardy' is a phenomenon like no other. Whenever I’m in America, I do my damnedest to catch it every weekday.’
Stephen Fry
Not sure it will work again here?
The latest edition of the game show is set to premiere on New Year's Day on both ITV1 and ITVX at 5.45pm. Following the debut, the show will air on weekdays at 4pm, and it's been reported that a minimum of 20 episodes have already been recorded and scheduled.
Preparation is everything in this game:

Well, as long as they're putting in some serious effort and not just indulging in a nostalgic trip down memory lane to their glory days of school sports, we're good!
One was unaware there was a Red Team!
How many other teams with colour coding are there?
"Don’t let cybersecurity become an afterthought this holiday season"
Cybersecurity is for life, not just for Christmas.

Happy Christmas everybody
*****galore,
indeed, it has been a tumultuous journey for some, yet undeniably intriguing. fortunately, my overall average remains relatively good, allowing me to adopt a long-term perspective. i've secured some profits at previous peaks, providing a measure of satisfaction. similar to your experience, i was involved in rr, exiting far too early - but still, a profit is a profit. i have a position in itv, but no joy there yet! as for dt, i’m optimistically anticipating positive developments in the near future, though i acknowledge it might be wishful thinking.
Analyst’s Take
The cybersecurity segment is doing well, with nearly every publicly traded cybersecurity company showing growth.

Are you sure you’re not getting a little bit obsessive, Tom?
Just a small selection of extracts from your previous posts – there are more but hey - who’s got time, eh?:
‘lazy Dame’
‘The Schofield report will be the nail in her coffin.’
‘Daitch the clueless Dame before it is too late.’
‘The only thing holding everyone back has been Dame Milquetoast McCall.’
‘Ditch the dead weight Dame.’
‘Any day now Janus. I cannot imagine the Dame will last into 2024.’
‘Did somebody hear that the Dame is preparing her resignation speech?’
‘...then you have piers morgan. hired by itv in 2015. kept on by the dame for ratings. photographed with every paedophile and groomer under the sun. he was someone who most likely knew of savile whilst he worked for the mirror group but failed to publish. close to max clifford.’
‘A few trouble makers that the 3.5million a year Dame just let carry on bullying and harassing…’
‘Please exercise caution. Schofield enquiry will report back in October at the earliest and we may get a bounce if Dame Milquetoast goes.’
‘So you ITV faithful may get an extra reason to cheer at Christmas this year when the Share Price hits £1 and the Dame will be appearing at Hemel Hempstead theatre in Beauty and the Beast.’

Tom, it's hard to ignore the obvious connection between your current situation and what we all perceive to be past financial mistakes. Your online history appears to resemble a stalker's dossier. Allowing this bitterness to linger will only lead to your own destruction if you let it persist. Your collection of posts is filled with derogatory twists aimed at blaming the CEO.
Seeking professional help might be beneficial, especially if you're still grappling with the consequences of past financial missteps that seem to haunt you.
Tom, the sooner you seek assistance, the more favourable it'll be for you. I have no desire to endure this nonsense every day leading up to the festive season. So, Merry Christmas, and farewell, old son.
Omalley,
Different viewpoints are all well and good, but the routine barrage of almost misogynistic remarks about the CEO isn't just boring; it's like a suspicious attempt to rain on the parade of positivity. You can label it cancel culture if you'd like, one is not bothered, I prefer to think of it as pest control.
