Inevitably, big business attempts to crack down will fail, or see droves of streamers trying a different flavour. ITVx has some clear advantages over the towering giants

He has a predisposition to overcompensate for his own inadequacy, he has form in this arena.

It does work that way, advertisers are very particular.
Imagine you’re a respectable company wishing to place and advert. Would you want your product or service placed before, in between, or after ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’ next to the persona on a hate-filled misogynist?
One thinks not.

It brings the business into disrepute if it allows a hate-filled misogynist to be associated with the company.
ITV need to step up to the mark, it's detrimental to its image if it doesn't.

It would appear Clarkson represents ITV’s values - monetary values that is.

But it does relate to ITV. What we are witnessing is an unethical broadcasting company. The Beeb in contrast were very swift to act some years ago in the controversy surrounding Jonathan Ross. ITV are failing to live up to those standards. I will sell after the next results, whatever. It's a disgrace.

It's not cancelling, old son, it's accountability. Neither is it simple. Jeremy Clarkson's tantrum is typical of modern conservatism where gammons like him are expected by some to be applauded for a repulsive attack on females. What exactly has motivated this man? Plausibly he is overcompensating for his own inadequacies; protecting the elites; protecting the privileged and scared out of his mind of the collapse of the Monarchy. There's no room for any ethical broadcaster to accommodate this misogynistic lowlife.
