The drilling rigs can cope in all weather - that old chestnut used to reassure the operators and clients.
Especially if the rig goes adrift in a category 4+ hurricane, even more so if the power fails. By then of course all the crew would have long since been evacuated to safety. Remember we're talking about floating drilling rigs not production platforms which are usually fixed to the sea bed.
