Iceman, I have sat through his recent extended interview on Proactive twice and would recommend anyone to listen carefully all the way to the end. I think what comes across is that he is scornful or would like to be but not in public of the naivety of investors who as he says think you come along with a Black and Decker, drill a hole and its all done and dusted. Unfortunately with his comments about trading the share means that many (traders as opposed to investors) have not the faintest idea of the all the things that can go wrong in drilling a 'simple' well onshore. The major achievement at W Newton without all our other irons is that the initial drilling and find, the second drill and sidetrack are successful and safe. That's without Wressle, Biscathorpe etc. No, the next few months should generate plenty of interest without DP having to hype everything up, anyway I don't think he is really bothered (or capable) and wants future results to speak for themselves. Look at how UKOG has gon. I reckon we'll be well ahead of them once Wressle gets going. Add to this the fact that we are not a one trick pony and have minority holdings in most of our assets and that above all reduces our exposure.

Wytch Farm was developed in the 1970's when there were no such people a Nimbies and Swampies. Real estate where the nimbies live around UKOG Loxley is worth a fraction of the properties in the area around Sandbanks and Poole Harbour under which is where the oil reservoir is located. The WF development, the largest onshore oilfield in Europe, has caused ZERO problems, no pollution, no spills and for many years the wealthy 'toffs' who live in the area didn't even know it existed and even now know little and care even less about it.
At WF Most of the field is protected by various conservation laws, including the Jurassic Coast world heritage site, Purbeck Heritage Coast and a number of sites of special scientific interest, areas of outstanding natural beauty and nature reserves (including Studland and Brownsea Island), If that area isn't a high impact environmental conservation what is?
Pollution or oil spill would be and environmental disaster given the birds and sea life. This appeal at Loxley is absolutely pathetic and just out of scale with the tiny footprints oil or gas extraction would cause. Wrong time wrong place I am afraid.

Perhaps the drillers, toolpushers and company men actually know what they are doing. Anyway this operation and others that UJO are involved with are drilling on a shoestring, forgive the pun, and the bottom line will always dominate plans. IMO Covid and Brexit unfortunately will dominate a lot of the near term plans. I just hope they have plenty of spares, both personnel and equipment, etc. 'cos things can break down, as the Big Man says its not like coming along with a Black and Decker and drilling a hole in the ground.

Either way you can bet there is a tight budget on all of this, especially given loan from UJO. Unlike the 'biggies' who throw money at these sort of operations we are cash strapped minnows despite what punters may believe and the bottom line will determine operations. Given the holiday season is on top of us no company would commence operations no matter how pressing.

Investors really don't worry too much about the daily snakes and ladders in the knowledge that it will come good (eventually) Add to this the fashion factor that is driven by greed often profiled by the holy Trinity, the wizard with his mumbo jumbo charts who builds them up, the broker man who purports to have inside knowledge, and the Sheriff of AIM who promptly demolishes them.

You have to remember Jimi many of those PIs in UJO at the moment are after the fast buck and are not really investors so may well sell their holdings out to pay for Xmas. This is very much an investment and no matter how many 'fouled-up' placings may come I'm in here for the long term. I am convinced that this find is in the realms of larger offshore fields, perhaps even Forties and will make Wytch Farm look like a sideshow. The costs of production are so minimal compared with offshore once the 'suits' have looked it over, will 'eventually' attract the big players. When Forties was discovered 1969/70 and still going strong oil exploration was on the point of giving up in the North Sea. OK technology has moved on but the potential for our exploration block is huge and perhaps only now being revealed.
