I am starting to think that a re-emerging Maersk is the elephant in the room regarding this agreement. Whether that is just making things difficult for the parties to get around them, or wanting a slice of the pie?

I don’t see MSC ‘waiting for BioMSAR zero’ though.

These oil in water emulsion fuels need LoNO approval and getting this on one of the transition fuels early, will put the partners in a position to better exploit the zero option a few years down the line as it proves up at scale and the emulsions infrastructure is already securely in place.

Does the trial need a baseline?

Won’t there be sufficient data on the Mexico Express fuel consumption/efficiency with common bunker fuels to not warrant a pre-trial baseline data set?

Then if they do, won’t they need several loops to iron out issues?

I can’t imagine that MSC and Wartsila aren’t awash with relevant data for this engine (it drives a certain size container ship) with all fuels on this route!

Yes nothing on Panama or SE Asia but there was enough on BTG/Vertoro in the water soluble SUGARS comments for us ITK to understand he meant those projects. Yes he could have said more on them specifically for the newbies, but I’m guessing it was a ‘studied performance’. I think he was filling in for JM as there’s a small window where he could grab a family holiday perhaps. (Every good battery needs a proper recharge eh?!)

I’d love to believe that there’s a big reveal from Antwerp due next week. I’ll be popping a bottle of Bollinger if we do 🥂

On the point of pending celebrations, AM several times mentioned putting milestones in on projects and real timelines that investors can hold on to. One such milestone that we’ll be able to start to look forward to is the £1 party at 46G’s. As soon as this errant agreement is signed we’ll have a clear/predictable pathway to that point opening up to us 😉

My takeaway from the interview

IMO isn’t going away (despite Shells go slow on Pernis!) in fact it’s getting more demanding as we get closer to 2050. ✅

There’s now a great deal of shipping interest in us. We’re turning away customers telling them to wait until we have the engine manufacturers LoNO ✅

We have the right technology. Our oil in water is where the pathway to sustainable decarbonisation lies. We have the access to water soluble feedstocks like glycerin and sugars that provide that pathway that water in oil competitors do not. ✅

FAME etc biofuels only take you so far the competition for agricultural land kills the claims where our water solubility bridges that gap all the way to sustainable BioZero ✅

Utah and Morocco are now seen as enablers for the shipping decarbonisation pathway.

We only need one BIG domino to fall MSC/Morocco/Utah for us to realise the huge potential in this space ✅

That’s odd I thought that downhole heaters had been on at least one well since 11th June?

Maybe that was insufficient to stimulate production and steam/co2 injections have now been deemed necessary to stimulate moveable oil?

One thing for sure Utah is a tough nut to crack but if this finally unlocks Asphalt Ridge then we’ll be made 💵

If this Antwerp visit is at all relevant to ‘the errant agreement’ then I’m inclined to think that it might conceivably be for a big media reveal.

Ship, business people, machinery etc and of course the magical RNS that we all desperately crave.

I don’t buy that we’ve provided £600k worth of kit outside a firm contract.

But I’d love to be wrong 🙂

I’m just wondering as to where you think the ‘first batch of BioMSAR’ in your scenario will come from?

Our QDF facility small MMU from which we supplied Morocco trial?

Or a surreptitiously supplied new MMU purpose built for this application which has been ghosted in to the MAC2 facility?

The first I’m guessing is unsustainable to support for subsequent bunkers.

I’d love the second to be true but we are a public quoted company and I’m guessing the company would have had to tell us?

Indeed and wouldn’t it be wonderfully ironic if Cargill end up supplying MAERSK with our fuel through that tie-up. Even after MSC and Cargill have finally proven our emulsion fuels for use in shipping!

There aren’t that many geographically available opportunities and this one (Utah basin) is possibly worth the shot?!
