Here's a fascinating passage .. ""Healthy human donors and cancer patients both show repertoires of CD4 T cells that respond to these citrullinated peptides. In this report we show immunization of HLA-DP4 and HLA-DR4 mice with citrullinated peptides in combination with TLR ligands resulted in generation of strong cytotoxic Th1 responses which protect against tumour challenge. These citrulline specific Th1 responses could be detected rapidly within two days of vaccination suggesting there is a pre-existing repertoire to these citrullinated peptides. In contrast immunization with the citrullinated peptides in a �non inflammatory depot� such as incomplete Freund's adjuvant resulted in T cells secreting IL-10 and no tumour protection. Citrulline specific Th1 responses were able cause regression of large established B16 melanomas within 4 days of vaccination by promoting a pro-inflammatory environment highlighted by increased T cell infiltrate. This suggests that a repertoire of CD4 T cells exists to prevent autoimmunity in the absence of inflammation but that this population can be polarized in the presence of inflammation to rapidly target stressed cells including tumors."" Morning all .. another inhibitor technology .. it's amazing how much there is going on in the inhibitor space when there is only so much good inhibition can do if your immune system is compromised ! With the pd1 / l1 products already dominating this space it will be very hard to 'better' this now standard of care treatment using these pathways ! What needs to happen is more value attributed to immune stimulators ! (Vaccines) .. but I think the market still hasn't really recovered from the doldrums caused by very public failures in the past ! However - t-cell therapies do attract very high values on potential so looking forward to what bioNTech think of citrulinated epitopes !! Just my thoughts as ever ... Take care all !

Worth remembering, as inanaco was hinting at too, the number of 'milestones' scancell have already achieved 'in house' !! Good money is paid for just the discovery of single targets !! Blimey eh ! Take care all ..

Whilst we have seen here and elsewhere, the Aim market doesn't tend to get too excited by the issuing of patents .. However, scancells patents arnt patents covering individual therapies or molecules .. They are patents that secure the door to a whole world of therapies, some being worked on and some probably not even discovered yet ! Moditope and immunobody are protected 'methods' of producing therapies .. Whether the market values this or not is yet to be seen .. But what is unquestionable is that if any party out there is looking at scancell and its technology, these patents will add to the 'security' of entering any deal or collaboration with them. (And of course any therapy produced from a result of these technologies can be doubly protected by a 'composition of matter' patent filed once LD is happy with it, like for example scib1!). Just some opinions as ever ... All exciting stuff ! Take care all ..

As Scancell has said, there are no other cancer vaccine contenders, nor were any of the successful teams last year working in the cancer vaccine arena. Project Blueprint is a very strong team. With people like Ira Mellman on board with the bid then LD is right to be extremely confident in my opinion. Konar, I don't think we will hear anything further about the process until November when the winners are announced. Just some thoughts as ever! Take care..

Just looking around on NUTAC's pages I think it's worth remembering that although the Glycan technology is a new element to scancell for us ... It's not for LD .. She's been working on it for years too .. Along side all her other work .. She really is one astonishing scientist !! If she thinks the Glycan platform technology is complimentary to scancells other technologies then I'm with her !!! Not really expecting many to read and understand this ... I repeat .. have you studied Farons phase 1/2 trial results ? The scib1 trial is now well into its 8th year and still yielding plenty of wonderful data .. I believe the data reported from Farons phase 1/2 covered 28 days !! Any thoughts on that ? Shame if that failure was down to poor planning ? Take care ..
