Hi Ivy, such an unusual situation. I wonder though through openness and discussion, should the trial come to the attention of others to whom it might be an option at the end of the road, or know someone it could be an option for, then the ‘discussion’ might not be so immoral ? We of course have a financial interest, but should that prohibit us from being a source of information.

Whichever way your views sway, I bet we all looked?

As I said, I understand both views and did myself wonder if I should actively ‘look’ .. but I did..

Quick question .. Of those who think the content of the MM Forum shouldn’t be posted or discussed here, when it was referenced here yesterday, how many of you looked it up?

It’s certainly made me think .. and definitely a grey area regarding moral stand point .. ie is the patient aware anyone can read the comments?

I’m happy to leave it for others to decide their own thoughts on this but agree that there are very relevant arguments on both viewpoints.

For me the biggest take away is:-

A- the patient is still alive as of yesterday ..
B- the patient continues to ‘do well’ as of yesterday.

These are things we didn’t know until yesterday..

Nobody suggested all patients would respond like that .. you would have to be a bit naive to think that?

As tumour ‘size’ is measured by longest diameter multiplied by largest perpendicular width .. then the shape change is accounted for .. no getting away from it, it’s a very promising situation for any patient with these sorts of numbers ..

Time is very precious to cancer patients .. that it’s still at least ‘moving in the right direction’ today .. is brilliant news ..

Moonparty ! Loving the maths and you are right .. tumour reduction is measured by comparing diameters .. so converting to spheres to ‘approximate’ the volume reduction is a relevant excercise in my opinion.

Good looking figures .. one this is for sure the tumour doesn’t look like it’s being very successful in ‘fighting back’
