well it seems the 24p support 25p resistance is well in the past, 26p was broken and held above. I am expecting a retrace / re test of the 30 p level before significant moves up, next level to watch is the 50p level, strong resistance there that may take some time to break, after that its open skies atm. I am averaging 26.5p here with a significant investment and will be holding, there is no danger IMHO of bankruptcy so a pretty safe long term investment. As always DYOR

I am invested here at 26.35, been watching the technicals closely. Yesterday tested several times the 25 resistance, it was kinda inevitable that as this did not break the support would be re tested, that has held firm today, IMHO that is a good sign to now break the 25 resistance, once past 26 and holding this will give great returns.

Once again, instead of just debating the points You resort to personal mud slinging “smacks of jealousy “. I have every sympathy for employees who are worried about their futures etc. But in business cash is king and costs are life threatening . Staff are one of the biggest costs to any business, those costs must be carefully managed. But as I said before it’s the whole business model in BA that needs to be reformed, it’s a dinosaur at the end of the day and if it does not evolve it will become extinct.

Trading, firstly i am very happily retired thank you and vey comfortably off, i have no intention of working for anyone! Secondly your mud slinging has highlighted my point. These seats are often empty and filled by staff, United have 350 seats, Emirates 354,qatar 356, KLM 408 seats, BA are running with 299 seats , as i said before, do the maths! Also regarding staff, there are many different contracts throughout the business, this causes jealousy and resentment as well as a management headache when it comes to streamlining costs. These are all issues that have to be addressed in the future in order for the business to thrive. Covid is a huge threat to the whole airline business, failure to re structure and adapt to the future is another.

the 777-300 has an exit limit of 550 passengers, BA config is 299 seats, first class (which many legacy airlines have ditched years ago) is only 14 "suites" as BA call them, 56 in club world, the ironic thing is often these seats are filled by staff travel who are entitled to first class travel on their annual free ticket (senior executives and Captains etc), KLM for example have 34 world business class, 40 economy comfort and 334 economy seats =408 seats, do the maths? the business needs to re structure to the modern world AND streamline their employee contracts and entitlements (is not just pay, its perks). I am sure long term they will survive, but its going to be a long and bumpy as well as a bloody (union unrest) road.

The world is changing, a lot of the legacy airlines have relied on business travel for their major profits, holiday or economy class has been icing on the cake.
With the advent of new technology many businesses have and will cut costs by using zoom or teams for meetings and that technology is getting better day by day making the need for business travel less and less.
These airlines need to restructure and move into a different reduced and competitive market, already the fairly new A380 is proving to be a white elephant with many being withdrawn and scrapped before their time.
I have no doubt that IAG will survive in the long term, but its going to be a long and bumpy road. The truly rich will move to private jet travel as the costs reduce making the road even longer.
think long and hard about investing in the old legacy airlines in general, some will not make it through this.

IAG is part of my portfolio now with quite a substantial (for me) holding, when the business is sound and well run despite the current climate it will turn good. Its a shame that i see people regularly selling at the bottom and buying at the top, not a healthy way to trade at all. IAG is not going to go bust, has good cash reserves and a strong business model, those are the things to research, acting on emotion is rarely profitable.

it boils down to basics, is the company viable? is it well run? pundits, articles etc etc LSE forums all boil down to one thing, opinion ! The biggest threat to an investor is emotion, i will say that again emotion! Price drops = fear, price increases = greed, then fear to get out whilst the going is good! If you invest in shares or spread betting (evil), then you need to thoroughly research the business you are looking to invest in, perhaps use charts as a guide to entry and exit points, but for want of a better word be cold, see through the emotion and the press and the forums and make logical researched decisions.

there is a lot of BS talked about share investing, there are the odd day trades to be had, but generally its a long term view, picking an entry point in times like these is a bit like trying to catch a falling knife, you can use various tools to decide when to buy but nothing is for certain. The trick is to find the businesses that are well run and have a good management team and a good long term outlook. IAG is one of those businesses, so yes short term there may be some pain whilst the knife is falling, but long term is a very good bet.

the fundamentals of the company are still very strong, the business is being trimmed and also they are taking advantage of the situation to make the business "lean", costs in all areas being trimmed. This is a well run business, i got out at 220p simply because the charts indicated a re trace, the news has just helped this, now is a very strong support area and i have re invested at £1.97, next strong support is 1.67 should that be seen. long term this is a sound investement.

this share is going to remain volatile for some time to come, the airlines globally have taken a big hit and this will take years to recover. I agree its a long term good investment , but 500 in a year.. i somehow doubt it

Charts are a good guide, they provide indicators for entry and exit points, where there is resistance and support.
The 230 resistance has proved to be stubborn over the past month or so, as has the 200 support, if either of those break then that could indicate a significant move.
Many people have lost their houses dealing in shares, day trading is a dangerous risky gambling game and can become highly addictive. Investing is a different matter, this is where charts, company Fundamentals, world news etc all come into play to make reasoned investment decisions, remember unless a company goes out of business you only lose or gain money when you sell. Good research and patience are key.

lots of resistance at £2.30, if it breaks then 2.60 to 3.00 is on the cards, may well re trace down to around the 2.15 mark before the next leg up, but if that breaks the 2.00 is a still a strong support

I have just sold out @229 having bought in at 203, very nice profit that i did not expect so quickly, however lots of resistance at 230 so expecting a pull back perhaps to the 210 mark, we will see, but happy for now

this share will remain volatile for a while, however it is worth remembering they have a strong balance sheet, £1.6 billion cash reserves plus huge assets, despite the grounding people are still booking holidays for next year (income stream), plus the logistics business that will benefit from the current situation. Of course this will severely dent profits in the near future, however it is well placed when the recovery happens.

The fundamentals of this company are very strong, now with less competition in the holiday market (now really a two horse race Jet2 and TUI) in a very good market position. It would be interesting to know how the forward booking are selling in this bad climate. Of course this is a tough call until they can resume flying, but my thoughts are they are very well positioned for the future. A good long term investement.
