Yes gold has no yield, it's not supposed too, it's money. Neither does a £20 note which is a perpetual non interest bearing liability of a central bank. Gold is a store of value against currency debasement and inflation.
Costs of gold storage - None. CGT on British legal tender - None. As for nicking my gold - no chance. But I'm narrowing down on a cellar up north, tooled up with a Hilti, vacuum, and duster.
