@lewishem
How much do you know about this company you are invested in. Also, how much do you know about the grocery sector.
To think that Amazon would invest in McColls for their locations is ludicrous, they do not fit.
If you are hoping that this gets to £1 to make a quick buck then I suggest you sell now and invest elsewhere. This will not be £1 in the next 6 months in my opinion.
The longer term benefit of investing here is the value to the brand that Morrison's will bring. Rebadging the stores will be a big part of that but that won't be quick.
I'm in for the long haul (3-5 years) which is when I expect McColls to have fully got their business back on track. I think by then we will also have seen some expansion of the estate in locations where the Morrisons brand is strongest.
Amazon lockers? Anyone can get access to those and the only demand from Amazon is exclusivity and high footfall.
Good question lewishem.
£40m to me and you may sound small change to Morrisons, but with this deal it is virtually risk free.
Look at it from Morrisons point of view. The cost of doing these store developments is effectively paid through greater distribution of own brand and branded products through their warehouse.
It also opens up opportunities for Morrisons to really understand the Independent Retail sector before dipping their toe in much further.
Independent Retailers are inquisitive and will be watching out for the Morrisons Wholesale offer developing over the next few years. The likes of Co Op and Sainsbury who are already in this sector will have to up their game, and that's before Best way are bought into the equation.
Supply of McColls is the first rung on the ladder and I'd suggest the next stage is investment in their distribution network as the Wholesale route takes off.
Any which way you look at it, this was always the most sensible deal for both McColls (risk free investment in return for a 6 year contract) and Morrisons (minimal investment paid back by a very profitable distribution of own brand).
Morrisons Franchise probably about 12 - 18 months away max.
Well well well. Some great news this week for all LTH's. Congratulations to those who held. It was a tough ask at times but think this has a lot higher sights to see now that Morrison's have stepped up.
Be nice to see this sleeping giant (minnow) finally start to deliver for investors.
Well, what a lovely day.
12% rise based on nothing but hot air, according to some.
Everyone else knows the story.
Have a good evening everyone, tomorrow could be life changing for some of us.
AZ won't need to release an RNS to get his call option above 0.69.
Happy days if this goes above that level before any news is released.
Not too sure about the M Daily sites. Many were split up across the convenience sector across Indies, Netto, Farmfoods etc.
However, they are in the process of moving their full supply to Morrisons from Nisa so that gives Morrisons their foothold in the convenience market again.
Been sat watching and waiting from the mid to low 20s and there's definitely a long way to go..
Potentially an opportunity for them to restructure their rents based on the significant turnover their stores will have been doing during Lockdown.
No, i don't believe anything is seriously wrong with the company. They are moving out of the unprofitable locations they occupy and possibly moving to 1 consistent source of supply.
Looking at the current tie ins you have:
Asda - Eurogarages
Sainsbury - Simply Fresh
Co-Op - Nisa and Costcutter
Tesco - Budgens, Londis & Booker.
SPAR are likely to need a Partner once Euro Garages move their full supply to Asda brand (already some very quick stores converted).
That leaves Morrisons with very little Convenience presence (but a supply route into it) and SPAR looking for a Partner.
Expect to see SPAR left at the table. Will Morrisons see the benefit of buying and re-branding McColls or just being a supply Partner.
Who knows.
Latest market data shows convenience stores significantly outperforming Supermarkets and Multiples significantly.
The possible move to full Morrisons supply will provide consistency across the estate but an own label brand many don't recognise (Safeway isn't as strong as Co Op is it?)
As for a takeover, I'm not sure, not too many players in the market now and those that are in the acquisition arena would provable prefer wholesale as opposed to store ownership.
Still, 20p is ridiculously cheap and on the off chance there is either 1) a full lockdown, 2) a rumoured takeover or 3) a further improvement in their sales performance, i'm back in as of last week.
Boight in at 0.33 and extremely happy with both CEO updates and share price.
This is a perfect storm opportunity and could potentially impact every business in the world. Of course it wont, i am realistic.
In the UK think of the impact this could have on sectors such as Retail, Car Manufacturing, Food Wholesale etc. Whether its 10's, 100's or 1000's of millions, the impact could be tremendous.
Ever been to The Range, B&Q etc and wonder how they hold the volume of stock. At a low level the savinvs would be significant. Thats before you factor in the likes of Amazon etc.
This might not ever see the results we hope for. But, £16k of my money says i'm prepared to take the biggest gambke of my life.
PS. Work in Food Wholesale so i know the imoact this would have on our business. Cash flow would be released and the impact on our business would be defining. GL to all who hold here.
Battering? ????
Bought in at. 33 and have bagged already. If that's a battering, you want to see the rest of my PF.
Idiot & blocked
Its a pity you only read that Sky News headline Ramirez and not the one abobe which states:
WHO reports record increase in new COVID-19 cases in 24 hour period.
Your incessant rubbish is quite boring now.
Either you have no interest in this share or you are looking for a cheaper price to buy in. Whichever it is, good luck but your now in the green box gang.

As the Beach Boys once sang. "Wouldn't it be nice" to get a 4pm Design Freeze RNS to send us off into the weekend.
Great to see such a range of opinions on ODX, from share price and strategy to everyones target prices but one thing that hasnt had much coverage is ths incredible public PR that we will gwt for free when we launch.
Playing golf yesterday, very few of my friends knew about any of the tests available to them, even fewer said they trusted them.
When the government do announce our test is live we will get incredible PR and that wont just be good for the SP but for reputation too.
Lets hope the news is sooner rather than later, but more importantly that its the perfect solution for this horrible situation.
Agreed. That and the fever detection units that WSG are producing and we should be able to open our airports securely as opposed to a ridiculous 14 day quarantine.
A liitle bit of collaboration could have huge impacts for tourism trade.
Yes, and the danger is that whatever he releases as news next may well be deemed unreliable by those looking to invest in his business.
Definite holder here though, far too much news for it all to be incorrect.
Absolutely everything to like.
Fairly new to investing at just 3 years as I'm only 26.
Just enough each month to put aside alongside my savings for deposit for a house.
If the market takes this as we all hope it will over the next 2 months, then I think I'm on the property ladder. Woo hoo.
GLA
Great spot
Sorry if i've missed something but MOS are partnered with Krunch.
Krunch's website previously had examples of their Partners such as eBay etc on there but it looks as though the website is under review as there is very little detail on there now.
Potential big reveal tomorrow ?
Thoughts?
Absolutely, some of the things done in the name of science and trying to find a vaccine, cure, test that keeps people alive.
I've done my reading over the last few weeks or so and think it's a shot in the dark. Still, if it gets us all back to normality then....
No cross ramping at all Chris.
I've no idea where either share is going and I certainly don't post often enough to be considered a ramper.
Unfounded rise 2 days in a row which hopefully continues but we'll see.
Just didn't see the need to take the **** out of another share.
Good luck wherever you're invested. ??
