Wingingit, I know the feeling I sold GKP at 101 and 122.... a few weeks later its at 170 odd. But profit is profit
Brent on the up, currently 64.20 up 0.55% ftse100 futures up 0.25% may not get the drop that some where expecting. I made the mistake of selling at 284.5 last time only to see it sail past 300.
This time ill wait it out. Happy to have qualified for my first ever dividend. If they are going to pay me around 1,000 per quarter im happy to stay invested here regardless of any pull back.
That said when it gets there I'd be tempted to sell at 350
So if you have put 40grand in yours and your wives stocks and shares isas for the year and you have another chunk of money invested in shares outside your isa, you don't want to be taking financial advice off someone you don't know on a chat forum. Speak to an accountant mate. I used my isa allowance this year and last, and "leant" 20k to my mate to invest in bp in his isa that he will return back to me 06th April less 10% of any profit
Do you hold your investment outside of an isa?
Its all or nothing here. 10x your money or nothing
I'd guess year end at £3.80
-Net debt on target to be reduced this year to 35bil
-paying a 6% dividend
-Poo significantly higher than budgeted for so higher profit and free cash flow
-investing heavily in renewable energy in anticipation of a gradual move away from oil.
Doing all that while in a lockdown situation in the middle of a pandemic... just imagine when we are all let out of our cages, and can even go on holiday abroad.
Its good practice to see an investment as a 5 year decision. I for one have no concern over the day to day week to week or month to month sp. While there is a decent dividend im happy to wait. To many conspiracy theroys and nonsense talk of take overs for my liking. The fundamentals are good enough on there own. Anyone here who doesn't this bp will be above 350 within the next 12 months id be interested to hear from you as to why you think that
I'm all in with bp. Takes my holding to just over 26000 shares all held in my isa. Happy to sit back and take the £1000 dividend each 1/4 and wait for the sp to rise. Hopefully the boards expected return of 10p per quarter per share will be realised when factoring in share buy backs.
Brent is at its year high right now, a good $10 higher than it was expected to average for 2021 with some believing it will go 70+ even with the diversification to greener engery this surely has to be the best play in ftse100 imo
Bp about to issue dividend, brent highest its been on a year, how is this not £3+. Even with the anticipated poo retrace to circa 55, this seems madness to me. Im grateful though, as I didn't manage my final top up... roll on Monday.... surely anything around 250 must be a dead cert 20% rise withing 12 months
Im looking forward to my first divi. Going to do my final top up tomorrow and I will effectively be all in. Im happy to wait 5 years + if require. Can anyone tell me what other stocks offer 6% dividend at the moment with realistic potential for that to increase over the next 24 months
Does anyone think biden will lock down usa resulting in mini poo drop? I'm sitting back looking for a slightly better re entry point, hopefully won't miss my chance.
If biden locksdown parts of America in his efforts to curb the virus then oil will drop as will this. Although he seems to have ruled out a national lockdown, but you never know. 400p by the end of the year
This is where posters gain credibility based on how they feel the market will react to news. I personally can't see how the market would view an effectively total shutdown on all UK airports as a positive move (financially speaking) for IAG. The market will have had the weekend to digest the news. Im sure longer term this will be ok but over the next few days I dont see how this could do anything but drop. Imo
If this doesn't drop below 130s on Monday I'd be shocked.
Anyone who received the dividend here before? What did you get and was it as a special? What was the sp when the dividend was announced. Thanks in advance
Couldn't agree more viking
Low, you think the government will back out of there legally agreed responsibility to cover the loans? Not a chance
I imagine if they want the extra bopd then they must start repaying first. Surely we will hold off increasing production until payments start coming in... I'm not expecting massive payments but perhaps a 10% over payment each month would clear the debt withing a year.
Opec deal agreed last night, brent up at 49.69 as of now, $50 a barrel is so close, I can almost feel those repayments!
