Talented - I was referring to SIG

Rolls is an excellent investment long term and now is exactly the right time to invest in SIG imo. Missed the boat? Read the RNS and research the company providing the funding. They have an outstanding reputation and will have two seats on the board. It’s a solid prospect. In terms of other shares, it very much depends on whether you are looking to make some short term trades or are looking for longer term holds.

Skier, that would be brilliant. A top up anywhere in that region would be a steal imo.

This could go either way short term. PIPE deals can lead to a temporary hit in the sp but long it’s a definite win. The outlook and other factors will also play a part here tomorrow. Long term this has become an even better opportunity for me now.

If anyone is interested in a Real World Example of a PIPE.....
In February 2018, Yum! Brands(YUM), the owner of Taco Bell and KFC, announced it was purchasing US$200 million of takeout company GrubHub stock through a PIPE. In this case, Yum! drove the PIPE to forge a stronger partnership between the two companies to increase sales at its restaurants through pickups and delivery. The added liquidity allowed GrubHub to grow its U.S. delivery network and to create a more seamless ordering experience for customers of both companies. GrubHub also expanded its board of directors from nine to 10, adding a representative from Yum!

Rule no. 1: Don’t listen to “rampers” or “derampers”. Both are equally as bad and can result in you losing serious money. Specifically, posters with predictions. E.g. “This is going one way only. DOWN. 10p tomorrow”. You can imagine how this might influence your decision tomorrow morning for example when you are already feeling concerned about your investment. Similarly: “The only way is up. BOOM. 40p tomorrow and 50p easily achievable by next week”. This could influence your decision just as easily.

Rule no. 2: Do your OWN research.

Rule no. 3: Ensure you have a spread portfolio. Never put all of your eggs into one basket.

Rule no. 4: Consider the trading environment and invest accordingly & appropriately. Case in point: COVID-19. Although every trade is a risk - pandemic or no pandemic - it would be sensible to consider companies with strong balance sheets in the here and now for example(imo). Riskier trades: invest less.

I’m sure others will be more than happy to add to this list and I can think of at least half a dozen more tips to help. In the meantime I would recommend strong FTSE 100 companies and unless your are a very experienced trader I would suggest avoiding AIM with a barge pole. It is the single biggest tip I can give you. Yes a lot of money can be made, but much more can be lost unless you have extensive knowledge of the individual companies and aim market.

I wouldn’t be concerned regarding the Dow today (see the s&p futures in my last post). Also, a further link here suggesting that the FTSE may open flat in the morning. Of course these are only “futures”but they can be a good guide

Gary, the company will have a structured & comprehensive business plan. We are only at the start of this new journey so it is extremely unlikely that would be the case given the recent undertaking of a significant rights issue. In my opinion there is clear direction and much to look forward to. That doesn’t mean the share price will rise tomorrow or the next day but with the experience on board, I am personally very confident of the medium term future here. There is an order book and the forward growth of the company is key. This is what I will be looking for in tomorrow’s update.
