Thanks for that empux. Might be useful for some of us who can't trade ASX if we are given a part/full share offer.
Liking that scenario very much MJ. Obviously, you're thread subject is spot on - all guess work atm. However, that is what I am hoping for.
I'll be keen to have a look Kev. Thanks for bringing it up here - I agree with VF that any discussion about the company should be kept to their board - but no harm in mentioning it here. Always on the lookout for another great find.
Hi Corradus. I agree, that's what I am getting at here. Why would they sell the whole company when the point of being an explorer is to prove up and sell the prospect? They're just doing their job.
If they buy up GGP in full, then they get all their other prospects which haven't been proven up. Newcrest are in the business of "finding, developing and operating gold mines" - and that makes GGP a competitor as an explorer. However, it would be in our interests as shareholders to form a JV or partnership agreement rather than sell a load of potentially massive prospects at a huge discount. Hav alone is looking like we've given 70-75% away for pennies (albeit we absolutely needed NC to help out as GGP didn't have the cash to do it and something is far better than nothing). But, if we sell Hav, then we will have plenty of cash to be independent.
Of course, it is more profitable for both parties if we continue working with NC in Paterson - but, I would hate to see Scally sold and watch Newcrest make another big discovery that we could have been a part of.
So, if we assume that NC want to buy Hav but not GGP as a whole - then how much have they drawn down in addition to their normal reserves? Surely that would be a good indicator of how much they are looking to pay? Of course, that's unless they haven't finished drawing down yet...
Also, I remembered this last night (I was going to post yesterday). GGP is an explorer. Surely it's not a good business model to make a great exploration and then sell up? Surely the idea of an explorer is to explore and sell off the mine to the miners (i.e. Newcrest). Not sell the whole company? Unless NC want to expand their exploration branch through buying GGP and making it a subsidiary, but why?
Jesus. Just got on here and saw "$3.8bn net profit." I almost fell out of my chair until I read back through the thread and realised you were talking about another company. Jeez guys! Stop trying to kill me! Haha.
If the price rises to phenomenal heights off the back of Hav - then fantastic we can take our money and run.
But, what if Scally or Goliath turn out just as good as Hav?
Could we then be looking at over the £1 mark? Even closer to £2?
Pure gambling after Hav's results. I see Hav as an investment, but holding out for Scally or Goliath would be speculation.
I suspect the Hav results will raise the price substantially (if they are as good as we think), there should then be a lull in the sp (I doubt its going to see less than 8p for a long time, but I expect a few % will come off it once the excitement dies down). Then it'll be down to Scally and Goliath whether we see a big rise again.
Do you think instead of having a cash dividend they could send us a bar of gold? I mean they'll have enough of it...
Even better would be these: https://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/gold-coins/quarter-ounce-gold-coins/2020-quarter-ounce-gold-standard-25-coin/
No CGT on them ;)
Dodgemeister. You're onto something there...
Well to be honest that presentation put up by Investment Journey (link at bottom) has brought it back to ground. The talk of 60p is near the top of the valuation near the end of the video. Obviously, he doesn't have any information that might be held by others on here. If Spy has information that we don't then fantastic (and I hope it comes to further fruition than it already has). But, this guy has used all the publicly available information and a bit of speculation to come out with some realistic figures. I expect to see £0.15 in case of a takeover at least. I am HOPING (based on Spy and a few others here) that eventually we will see a £0.60 sp.
Also, the thing that disheartened me a bit was that in the case of a takeover, there is virtually no chance of getting drilling done on Scally beforehand. I'll be gutted if that turns out as big or bigger than Hav. This guy seemed dead certain it won't be able to happen. But, it could if they sold Hav and kept Scally *fingers crossed*. Don't see why NC would want all of GGP? The value is all in Hav, why would they want the rest when they don't know for sure there's any money in it - they could be burdening themselves with loads of worthless prospects.

Damnit Merc. If you carry on like this I might wet myself with excitement! I'm gonna be dreaming my life away until next week with all these rumours!
BIB, as I say - if SC don't live up to their end of the bargain, they could always go elsewhere to look for investment. I understand the caution - I'm pretty cautious about it as well now. I can see a few ways this could come crashing down. But, as far as I can tell - there is no real reason why it can't work out alright.
Croeso Esquisite! Learn, but what I've found is also DYOR (Do Your Own Research). I've found just hopping on the GGP website helps and look for any interviews with the CEO. There is a lot of good stuff on here, but if it isn't sourced, take it with a pinch of salt. Also, keep an eye out for how other people treat the other posters, you'll find some are more respected for their knowledge than others. Some people are even calling for canonisation from the Catholic Church on one poster!
Definitely! That's what I was hoping for more than anything. Lithium is good, sure. But their real money could be in that Gold they've got. The initial drilling results aren't too bad at Nangalasso (especially the reconnaissance aircore ones). Then they have Korhogo which I'd like to see some drilling on as well.
I'm following GGP and they have a 70/30 split with Newcrest on their project. Something like that on one of their Gold prospects would be good. Obviously, we can't expect as big a discovery as GGP. But, anything would be better than the position they're in now.
Here's hoping Paddy! £10/share by Xmas 2022 yeah?
I think we should see a 50% jump after the RNS next week (or somewhere in that region). Then a steady increase (15 - 20p) over the next couple of months followed by another sharp increase when the MRE is released. If the MRE is as good as we expect, then we could see astronomical increases. Some on here think 50p +
Interesting take Daz, I didn't note that Mali own part of the project. So if we knock 20% off that, it leaves £140m (1.2pps). My other problem with this whole thing as you say is the pricing of the Spod. There is no spot pricing for it anywhere. We can get pricing as before (I think it was something like $450), but we don't know how accurate that is. At this point, we are hoping that KOD have got their facts right. But, it is in their best interests to have done the research and make reasonable judgements.
I'm not really here for Bougomi - its not a bad project and I think it will help get KOD on their feet. The real prize I hope will come from their other exploration projects once they've got the cap behind them. Also, it would be nice if they sold Bougomi as that will give them some liquidity faster than going through production.
I can't imagine that the BoD or BA would be very happy to let it go bust. They know they've got the goods, Bougomi alone is worth $200m in profit. If SC don't live up to their end of the bargain, I am sure other investors might be willing to give them the cap. Would SC want to risk having their deal broken and KOD making a deal with someone else?
I have to agree with AR at the moment.
Estimated revenue from Bougoni at $1.4bn (over 8.5yrs) - NPV of $200m post-tax. Not a really high-profit venture, but if KOD mine it themselves, that's 1.5p/share. Or they can use that profit to fund their other ventures and give a small dividend. Alternatively, they could sell Bougoni for say $100m (0.75p/share) and move on to their other exploration sites.
I can't see why SC wouldn't give them the investment. It's got confirmed mineral resources, all that needs to happen now is the investment and development. Once that's done then we're off. I am quite interested to see what happens in the coming years with their other sites. Once Bougoni is sorted, they will have the capital to explore their other sites and get more investment going forward to develop them as well.
Sorry Scoutt, Arian is silver and Aur is gold. But Arian does also mean money, so roll on Summer of Money!!!
