Carrington - I'm surprised you made a decision to sell based on the UK economy only and not the other more dynamic effects on the business currently. I also don't understand the value of posting when you are in or out and percentages made, unless to influence others?

Good day, long overdue. UK Interest rate and US rate cuts all expected same day as solid update. Hope to finish higher still. I'd like to be positioned in the 90's before announcing US school bus sale in Dec to push up through and up into the mid / high £1. Return to FTSE 250 and close Shorts. All now visible and possible. Keep the faith.

Seriously though it has been clear for a while that after US School Bus sale, disposing of UK Assets, selling ALSA to Cosmens to take private and then listing WeDriveU in the US would be a complete game changer and would deliver large returns to shareholders. WeDriveU is a massive opportunity and clearly doing a great job. Even UBER contract them for their shuttle services, thats a big big boon for WeDriveU coming from Uber! That path has been there all the time. Will it be a path thats taken?...

There’s US transit for one. Look at growth rate there. Transit is providing 60% of revenue gains globally and ROCE is impressive. It’s a US transit and ALSA story

A confident 'on track' and everything we said would be delivered is still being delivered. Thats a big thing for us (but really shouldnt be!)

As PolishCap says, 12% revenue growth is a pretty good result.

German performance the only negative in an otherwise solid update. UK pretty much as expected although 5% passenger volume increase on Bus was also pretty solid. All down to route and price negotiation in the next few weeks. Otherwise, no real loss in selling out of the UK market.

I think we will get a US update before year end.

Genghis - NEX WM are renegotiating the new rates for bus routes, starting Jan 25. So its a great time to be adding back the NI costs. Public will pay the bill one way or the other, either directly or through council tax. Dare I say 'working people'...

That applies country wide in every business. Quite a likely outcome and why wage inflation often damages the lowest paid the most. Cost of the bus ride, a pint etc etc.....

QD - min wage earners got a £8-£10 a day increase. For those that buy day tickets they are still better off. Im sure there will be some who now may use a car, walk, cycle etc.... but I would guess the majority will just keep using the same service as they probably have few economical alternatives. The routes where there may be an effect will likely be subsidised or cut. I think Mobico will be more ruthless in operating profitable lines come January. The local government will be welcome to run their own services and at some point down the line Im sure that they will realise that it is more expensive than what they had before and a full circle will be performed.

JamRock, I hope the government does acquire the UK Bus business or adopt a franchise model. Fantastic. Cut the loss making, high risk, low control business and focus on high quality. Sell the entire UK business and focus on US Transit and Alsa. Winning outcome :)

The PM is now asked about scrapping a £2 cap on bus fares in England, rumoured to be included in the Budget.

Starmer says the Tories only funded this capped fare to the end of 2024.

He says he understands how reliant many people are on this cap, particularly in rural England and announces that there will be a new £3 cap fare until 2025 announced this week

I think what you must mean Poker is that companies with a low Free Float are not going to spoon feed PI's (very small owners of the company) as they are of little consequence or interest to them. I can pretty much guarantee that II's 'are' communicated with and responded to, especially on matters of specific concern. I get your point, but the communication to the general market doesn't seem to be a priority or concern in this company. This being known then certain companies are best avoided by small PI's and in fact are being, hence the drift on lack of supporting information and news. Is this a good policy?

I’m expecting next Thursday based on last few years: not really material whether it is or isn’t but will be interesting if rises into it. Seems like news is not available or locked down well.
