Panic selling - "headless chicken" time! Great buying opportunity. However, I'm maxed out in my ISA for this year and don't want CGT issues.

There is a bit of short-term pain—cue for some panic selling! I'm here for the medium to long term, and the future still looks very promising to me.

I have been watching Serabi Gold for a while. It has an impressive 12-month share price graph. But it is a riskier bet than PAF (it operates in Brazil, plus there are possible problems with the granting of licences, etc.).

I just (09.25 am) received a quote of 42.008p to sell (I'm not selling!). Hopefully, this will rise further into the close.

Still time. It did hit 41.5p at one point yesterday.

People are selling all the time, for goodness sake! There is no shortage of day traders out there looking to make a quick buck. This is a fantastic share if you consider the 12-month graph. I see this rising towards 45p as we head towards the results announcement - but will there be sellers on Monday? Yes, of course there will be!

The only negative I can see is that production for the six months to 31/12 is likely to be lower than the corresponding period to 31/12/24. But that is a short-term issue. the medium to long-term prospects look excellent.

12 February is the day. Cobus Loots holds 7.5m shares - he's not selling!

I'm holding for the medium term (12 months minimum) so I am not too bothered by short-term price fluctuations. The fundamentals here are all good: (1) increased production, especially when the Aussie mine comes onstream in Q2 2025; (2) rising POG (compared with the average POG for 2024); and (3) reducing debt.

US dollars. PAF closed at over $8 in the States on Friday. So a 40% increase would be circa $12.

A couple of big buys at the death ...

Lower production costs distinguish PAF from its peers.

@Bluedefender - I never disagreed! Simply pointed out that for me and others, 20% SA withholding tax was deducted!!!

Maybe I should move from Hargreaves Lansdown to IG!

I have now heard from Hargreaves Lansdown. The following is an extract:

"I'm afraid we are unable to apply for a reduced rate of withholding tax for you as your shares are held in electronic form in our pooled HL nominee accounts. Any application will need to be made by you personally to the relevant foreign tax office.

However, we can produce ad-hoc dividend tax vouchers that you can use with your claim. Should you want one of these please send us a secure message."

So far as I can establish ... foreign investors (i.e. UK investors) should complete a dividend tax declaration and submit it to Link Group who manage the UK register. The company's income tax reference is 9154588173.

I should add that all my PAF shares are held in an ISA, so there is no liability to UK tax.
