Dodge, Glazer's money? I think they've taken more out than they put in. But that's beside the point. I dislike foreign ownership and I dislike, as you put it, the top four cartel. Life moves on I know, but in my day, commencing around 53/54, at the beginning of the season any team in the first division could win the title. You supported football, then your team, then your city. My first upset, I cried, was when City lost to Newcastle in the Cup Final, my first match, City v Chelsea 2-2. I watched City v Newcastle, City 3-0 up at half time, lost 3-5 after extra time. They were great days; you watched football for the love of the sport, not just to win trophies. Man U were so poor that they could not afford floodlights when they ventured into the European Cup, so borrowed Maine Road; should never have sold it. Why United not City are my No1, is a long story, but it involved Tommy Taylor whose picture I took, and Matt Busby's, with my Brownie 127. Supporters stood together without rancour, enjoying the skills of the opposition players not
just their own. Saw Stanley Matthews score against City, 0-5 cup replay. Still check City's results now, probably for different reasons now. Manchester and Liverpool will always be hotbeds of football and great cities. Stay Safe.
